    Speaking/Talking with or to?

In standard English is there any difference between 'speaking with'/ 'talking with' somebody and 'speaking to'/'talking to' somebody?

I would suggest that speaking /talking with would denote ordinary verbal discourse amongst a group, whereas speaking/talking to would suggest a more one way exchange such as a teacher or lecturer.
