I am looking for a stair runner bound by material on either side to go up the middle of my stairs. I have been told by most companies so far that the carpet would have to be sent to UK to be bound. Surely there must be someone in Ireland that does this. I have received quotes of between €800-€1,500 (crazy!). Our stairs are just straight. Any suggestions of places which might do this?

:eek:Crap! Mine needs replacing too,but if it cost that much,i would consider carpeting right across the stairs.

    Hi
I worked on a show house in sligo and there was a carpet and flooring shop attached to a furniture shop called Curleys , i used a gray stair carpet and asked him to bined its edges in black and he had a macine that did it , he did a superb job of it . i will try find a pic if you want and post it. here is the web site of the furniture shop i think they are one of the same. Hope this helps you both ;) Sarah

Most leading interior designers could arrange this for you.
    See listings at www.interiorsassociation.ie
Roger Oates and Hartley make nice stripped runners which cost €120 - €150
per lin m. PM me re having linen border added to any carpet for a more cost efficient alternative.
