Just started playing MW2 for the past 2hrs, what struck me is how a good few weapons in games resemble airsoft unique models. The M4 in the game is an S system, I don't think it exists in real life with that rail kit and flip sights. The pale wood effect polymer tacticool AK47 like what would be seen in airsoft after market kits. An MP5K with an over-sized front end and short mag, again whats on the market and the SCAR-H has gen 2 Star design look all over it. The Desert Eagle with the built in rails on the top slide and lower frame.

Just compared to other tactical shooters on the market that mostly tend to go for real world designs, and not airsoft inventions. I'm suprised there is no Stubby Killer M4 or G3 SAS in MW2:D.

Other than that a few oddities from review I read earlier, like Vet difficulty being easyier in this than MW1, it's not. And also report that the infinate re-spawning enemies are from older CoD games are gone in this, again this is a lie. Even in the early stages there is a few parts where the enemies will keep coming at you in endless waves unless you make quick progress, which is the biggest gripe with the CoD series.

Bas*ards took away the 1911 which was my favourite.
But yea,i'm surprised at how effective the M4 is compared to the other call of duty and the new range of weapons. The new ACR assault rifle isn't bad either.

Without starting a new thread since there's no need for it, does anyone know where I can get a flipaside mount for an aimpoint magnifier that sits flush with an L-shaped aimpoint mount?

Something similar to the EoTech magnifier one.

The only one I can find on ebaybanned is a twist off mount here

Guys, switch on Radio 1 now, Liveline are discussing MW2.

"Won't someone PLEASE think of the children" has been used more times than a Simpsons series.

A teacher has just said his kids in class "Have lost the ability to reeeeeeeeeeead" (direct quote)

    Some people are just idiots.

Bah, some biddy on from de eyelands neow. Feckin culchies.

They are dead right! We're robbing children of their youth - what's the world coming to??!! Next they'll be dressing up as soldiers and running around a field shooting at each other with toy guns!

I came across this on my travels through the interweb.

    Posted 11 Nov 2009
    It explains everything
If you ever wondered why the people of Ireland seemingly ‘put up’ with crooked politicians, abusive clergy and all the other gob****ery that surrounds us on a daily basis then listening to Liveline will give you the answers you need. It’s because they are cretins.

Today’s ‘Video games are evil and should be banned because they are evil because I say so and not based on any evidence’ show was an extravaganza of ill-informed, half-witted, moronic ****wittery of the highest order. Some of the people they had on were just so ridiculously ignorant of anything resembling a fact it’s frightening. It was all about Modern Warfare 2, a game in which you go around shooting people. Like many other video games since video games were invented. Apparently they’re worse now though because graphics are better and we can more realistically portray blood (but am I right in remembering a cheat code for Mortal Kombat which made it more bloody?).

Inevitably somebody mentioned the Columbine killers playing violent video games. A media led myth that has not even a shred of truth to it. If anyone thinks those boys killed those people because they played Doom then they are just wrong. The same way they didn’t kill all those people because of Marilyn Manson or because they wore long trenchcoats. Yet Liveline with that bastard **** Joe Duffy is the perfect platform for these people to disgorge at clueless length about stuff they only think they know about. Typical conversation:

“My boy was playing a game and it had someone stabbing a person in the neck and there was blood everywhere”.

    “And what did you do?”

    “I took the game away”.

“And how did that go down”.

“Oh, it was terrible. There were arguments and all kind”.

“Was there violence? Did you have violence at home because of it?”

What a ****. Another guy rings in:

“I’ve got Modern Warfare Joe and I played it last night and I’m not about to go out and start shooting people”.

    “Well, I hope not”.

**** me. Generally the only people Duffy had on defending video games were young enough, some of them not really eloquent enough to get their point across but when the student from IT Tallaght came on to talk about how the Director of Film Classification came to the college and gave a lecture about how there was no evidence to link violent films with real life violence he was ignored.

Honestly, these people are idiots who clearly have nothing better to do with their time. And these idiots are representative of much of Ireland because people hear the idiots on the radio and agree with the idiots and soon the idiots point of view becomes conventional wisdom and on we go.

I have watched lots of films which have violence in them. I have not once carried out an act of violence similar to the ones I have witnessed. I have played video games with violence in them, yet I have not carjacked anyone, driven up the pavements knocking people down like skittles before stealing a helicopter and making my escape. The closest I’ve come to emulating a video game is trying to a Cruyff turn when playing football and I nearly slipped a disc doing that.

Today’s Liveline was maddening, it really was. Forget about banning video games. I call for Joe Duffy to be banned before he incites someone to carry out acts of sickening violence … on him.

The answer is simple, you must buy a new PS3. Go to the purse, remove the credit card, and just go nuts.

I can't believe the big deal being made out of the ''violent content'' in MW2, oh no you can kill civies, what other games of the past 15 or so years can you do that in, I wonder. Yes, I can see it now. Hoards of 12 years olds running around an airport with RPDs killing without thought and reason, the world is not safe anymore because of MW2, look what it made our kids do.

World at War was a far more violent and graphic game, you could set people on fire, actually stab them and see and hear the blade go in, blow off legs, arms etc.

In GTA4 you can wait behind someone at an ATM, then stab them in the back and take their money, oh god no.

Exactly what i thought,GTA is just as bad when it comes to killing innocent people.

That's the thing, you are not actually killing civilians, just renderings of civilians. I really doubt that if you run over 12 people using a car, then somewhere in the world, 12 living, breathing people get run over.

It's the same thing with airsoft, it's the willing suspension of disbelief aspect that appeals. It's using a videogame system to allow people to act like a soldier, using realistic firearms to achieve goals.

The same people that protest against this are the same people that whinge and bitch about the other mundane matters that mean nothing to us, but mean something to their poor, miserable, insignificant lives.

Seriously, 400,000 unemployed, tax-rape in December budget to get at the rest of those employed, politicians taking the piss with expenses and resurgent R-IRA activity. To name but four things that seriously pisses me off, and many others I'm sure, not a ****ing game.

I just wonder how much VAT will be grawn into the tax-net by those who buy this game?

Exactly just because the CoD series has grown over the past few years!
