Yes,i think most utd fans would be happy with a draw.Big games needed from fletcher, anderson(if he plays),and the back 4 if we are to come away with anything.Im off to the pub now, should be a great game!!

Have the teams been announced yet lads? I'm hoping Valencia is on a break today for ff purposes ;)

As for the game itself it'll be tight, a bit of a dull game overall and more than likely a draw. Hope to be proven wrong though. A good 3-2 United would be nice

For what exactly? It was clearly a joke, all of this uber confidence is only a bit of banter, if anything I'm actually taking the pi$$ out of myself and other Chelsea fans:D

Hearing completely unreliable rumors Berbatov didn't travel. Hopefully it ain't true.

I reckon 2-1 to Chelsea but depends on the teams put out

If Berbs doesn't travel it's a definite 4-3-3 for me so. Rooney leading the line with Giggs and Valencia either side.

Ya mean 4-5-1. No way it'll be a traditional 433.

Without Berbs I fear even more for United. I feel that it will take something special to get a result today and he was the man, for me, to produce it.

    Is it though?

Two very different mentalities are conveyed in each formation.

I very much doubt Fergie is going to go for an attacking 4-3-3, its more likely to be a containing 4-5-1.

I do see what you are saying though. I jst dont expect Giggs or Valencia to be in as much an attacking role as 4-3-3 suggests.

4-5-1 when they don't have the ball, 4-3-3 when they do.

    At least thats the theory.

    ^^^^ Basically :D

Berbs would be a huge loss though.

I wouldn't be in the least surprised to see us going 4-5-1 with Giggs and Valencia pushing on the wings. Their midfield could anihilate us if they overcrowd us so putting Anderson, Fletch and Scholes in the middle of the park may be a wise idea.

Mainly because Chelsea have very little width - with A. Cole and Ivanovic (or whoever starts at right full) being their main wingers as such.

Makes sense. I guess I was just trying to say that I doubt united will be overly attacking today.

The 433/451 thing is lessening the need for formations at all though. It'll soon be going the way that there is 5 designated defenders and 5 Attackers. **** positions etc.:pac:

A bit concerned with some aspect of the team, Brown ahead of Vidic for one.

I'd say Drogba will be licking his lips at that backline.

Would prefer Brown over a underperforming Rio at the mo to be honest.

Meh, as far as I'm concerned if Vidic is able to be on the bench then he should start.

I'd rather him come off at 60 minutes without conceding than have him come on after conceding 4!

    No Joe Cole for Chelsea?

I'd have started Vidic for United myself.

That UTD back 4 looks very weak imo

The centre halves aren't first choice alright. But the full backs are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,824 ✭✭✭ShooterSF

Vidic has to start if fit. :(

    Slightly overboard?

Evans would start on any other premiership team imo, bar chelsea.

Brown is a solid no nonsense player, he hasnt had much game time though so Ill concede he is a worry.

    OShea/Evra are regulars.

    Dont think its that weak.

I can see a comfortable win for Chelsea here with Drogba stealing the show. 2-0 or 3-1. Vidic not starting is a horrendous blow for united. Really can see Chelsea domination in all areas of the park.
