oh the irony, given the rest of the post, implying they'll only get in the game when you defend too much.

chelsea fans have every right to be confident.

they're playing better than utd, have a better team man for man right now imo, and are top of the league.

for this game, they have to be considered favourites, and i've seen very few fans of theirs predicting it will be easy, maybe the odd one or two.

Chelsea usually have a better team than Utd man for man, but that means very little when it comes down to it. Having said that, my head says Chelsea will walk it, while my (pure red) heart hopes we'll jam it! Either way, may the best/ jammiest team win!

Glad you clarified that (in brackets!). Chelsea may well win, but will it make any difference in the long run? Utd constantly get turned over by the other 3 of the top 4, but are like cats & land on their feet no matter which way you drop them.

Don't be worried. It'll be a canter. We have Joe Cole back, unstoppable

I've been extremely pessimistic about United's chances all week. Somehow I feel a little better after reading this post. Not so much what was said but who said it.:pac:;)

Chelski r flying at the moment, Drogba is on fire. Utd are not playing well but are scraping through in some games and their defence is looking shaky. Drogba to score 2, Cole to get another and one for utd from .... someone like Evra. 3-1 and the pressure will mount in Manchester. Long season to go though, alot more ups and downs for all the top clubs.

lol there is no pressure on united and no result on Sunday will change that. Chelsea were flying this time last year the league is a marathon not a sprint.

I might be wrong but dont think we have beat Chelsea at the Bridge since the 3-0 win there back in 2002. Scholes goal that day was cracker.

My predication for game is for United to sneak a point in 1-1 contest. I be surprised if United do win this one myself.

Chelsea are the form team and there home record is excellent. My worry for United is the defence which seems to be all over the place at the moment. But can see new dad Rooney netting Sunday to give the reds a share of the spoils.

If my mother tongue is shaking the foundations of your state, it probably means you built your state on my land.

everyone saying the United defense is all over the place atm, what are you basing this on? CSKA scored 3 on a second choice defense and didn't get out of their own half once Evra came on. If Vidic, O'Shea, Evans and Evra can all start then I'm not worried one little bit about having a shaky defense.

With the right team for this game i am quietly confident of a united victory here

i.e. 3 man midfield of Anderson, Fletcher and Carrick/Scholes

With Valencia and Rooney on either side of Berba so they can switch between 433 and 451, Valencia works better in this system also i feel

I will happily take stick for the opinion!

I can honestly say that with the midfield and forward line like that i would be very disappointed and surprised if we didnt get at least a draw, as i said, quietly confident of a win

I find it most amusing to see Chelsea fans on this thread so supremely confident in a team that got spanked by Wigan 3-1 not too long ago.

Chelsea might be in good form but I don't believe this team is as good as everyone is making it out to be.

I reckon United can win it by a goal. My main concern is that the referee will be Martin Atkinson, the guy who effectively screwed us in the FA Cup quarter-final game with Pompey last year. The game needs a strong ref and I'm not sure this guy is up to the task.

Tyical Chelsea fans being arrogant. Always writing off the team who have won the same amount of top league titles in the last 3 seasons than they have in the entire history.

A lot of Man U fans were doing much the same before the Liverpool game which was just silly (and that's coming from a Man U supporter). Chelsea fans have every right to be confident given their record at SB.

    Valencia deserves another start.

Valencia is there for the long haul as far as I can see - the boy will & desrevedly be given more than a half chance by Fergie.

Expect Chelsea to win this if both teams form is anything to go by.

If form had anything to do with it UTD should have bet Liverpool three or four nil.

Form goes out the window in games like these.

It's not only about form, I think in every department we have better players. We lost nobody last season. What we gained was Essien for a full season and Zhirkov (who looks dissapointing tbh).

You guys lost your gamewinner and best player for a man who isn't anywhere near a replacement,Tevez for an English forward who can't get in a team ahead of Emile Heskey and Carlton Cole and now your central defence has gone to **** whereas it used to be the best this time last year while VDS is showing his Juventus form and Foster is a fermenting Kirkland.

I think United have looked poor this season and got lucky against Sunderland, City and Arsenal whereas we had an early hiccup against Hull and since then have looked great barring 2 abject performances. I think Man Utd have to have a big game to stand a chance whereas as long as we don't have a bad game it's 3 points. An average performance will put away and average side

    love the irony.

Didn't Chelsea go behind in like the first 3 or 4 games of the season? Love how you can call United average when they (not Chelsea) won the league last season playing the exact same style of football as this season. In fact I'd say United have started better this season than last. There haven't been as many 1-0 performances. Jesus christ, people call United fans arrogant? just reading the last 2 sentences in your post I wish there was a button for 100 roll eyes guess one will do for now

Going behind and coming back to win in those four games is the sign of a top team

you say Chelsea haven't lost anyone as if that proves something and then say that United's defense is a shambles (can you give me proof of this btw) despite the fact that United have the same people as they had last year. But fine, go on living in your fantasy world. No team can catch Chelsea this season they are so amazing and will never ever lose to a rubbish outfit who have never done anything before to suggest they can win.

CSKA stuck 3 goals past them at home & almost killed a 22 home game unbeaten record. Almost. It's all gravy .

I knew people would use this 1 game where Vidic, Evra, O'Shea or Ferdinand weren't on the pitch for any goals. I'd love to see how Chelsea would do without JT, Carvalho, Ashley Cole and Ivanovic.

I get it, but it's all gravy. Injuries / Splinjuries. Game on.

Wow...where do I begin. Ok, you are at home and I have no problmes saying that Chelsea are firm favourites to win the game. But you seem to be very quick to gloss over Chelseas inadequacies this season. We may be conceding goals this season, but ye haven't looked strong either. Your keeper is psycholgically scarred from the incident with Hunt and your captain is not having a great season either. Lampard is only barely showing signs of form in the last few weeks.

As for Michael owen, who cares about whether he plays for England or not? What I care about is that, in the role he plays, that he gets crucial goals.

Calling United an average side is incredible arrogance and I doubt anyone at Chelsea will be foolish enough to think that going into Sunday.

Will people stop comparing the teams from last year to the teams of this year unless your gonna make the following adjustments.....

    Chelsea....
+ An interested Didier Drogba in the form of his life
+ A fit Michael Essien, need I say more
+ Joe Cole returned from injury

The first 2 are imo our 2 best players

...and do I really need to explain why I think United are weaker this year?
Obviously I'll be called arrogant but I'd say thats just being logical.

Terry has been in top form actually. Lampard only showing good form now? Great, the games this Sunday.
