Ive heard that its better to go to university over an IT because there is a lot more project work, assignments etc that you are given to do in the IT's..

    Is this true?

It depends really on the colleges involved.

From my own experience of DIT and DCU, we went into a lot more depth in DIT (Undergrad) than we have so far in DCU (Postgrad) on similar subjects. The first few years in DIT we normally had 2 assignments per subject per semester, either reports or reports and presentations. For 3rd and 4th year the workload went up quite a lot.

Someone who went to one of the Universities for their undergrad might give a better overview of their workload there.

I wouldn't necessarily agree. Project work and assignments play a very large part of courses in ITs.

TBH its very much course and college specific.
Only way to really get an accurate prespective is to pick two similar courses and compare timetables, facilities, grading, practicals etc.
