Heading out in Athlone

    Looking for some pointers for heading out in Athlone. What are the hotspots and any good indian,chinese for food and good value accomodation for one night

    not sure where you'll get good value accommodation. but if there is a group going out i'd recommend going to the lebanese restaurant across town (behind and around the castle). coppers seems to place to go in town for pints although you could have a bit of craic in the palace too. sean's beside the river (behind the castle too) is always busy. for a "play is safe" chinese ken's in centre of town beside dunnes should do the job. don't think we have a nice indian.

    What is the hotel beside the new shopping centre like price wise or is there any three star hotel in the town centre for cheap rooms There will be a group of six to eight people going out
