NTL digital+ box, transfer recording to PC

I have an NTL digital+ box and would like to know if it is possible to transfer any recordings I make onto my PC to free up space. I am pretty sure the box has an ethernet port, but dunno if it runs any useful services like ftp/ssh etc

The ethernet port and USB ports are disabled on the box.

There's no way to transfer the information/programmes off, without playing them/recording them using the HDMI or SCART interfaces.
