Laptop slow on start up

    Hi
    My laptop is very starting up primarily I think due to random programs starting up on start up, ie itunes. Can anyone tell me how to prevent this or change the settings?
    Below is all the info on laptop that I know

    Is it in warranty? Yes

    Operating System: Windows Vista Basic

    CPU, RAM, GPU: 2.0ghz Dual Core

    In Windows Defender there is an option to check and control the startup programs. If you have Windows Defender disabled, you can use CCleaner. Download CCleaner here:

    Then just use the Tools > Startup Options to disable any stuff you don't want auto-starting. Better to disable the startup entry rather than delete it if you are not sure what you are doing (you can always re-enable if you want).

    iirc iTunes has a load of background processes it runs at startup for syncing the ipod that can't be disabled without blowing up itunes.

    an idea might be to uninstall itunes, and create a separate windows profile and reinstall itunes to that profile alone for syncing?

    Sorry I am not very computer savvy, could you explain about setting up an extra profile? Would I be able to still use all the music I have loaded on itunes?
