How much bandwidth/data does I players use?

    Just wondering if i watch a lot of I player streams/programmes (BBC i player/ RTE player) how much bandwidth do these use on my download allowance?

    This really needs to be posted in the nets and comms broadband section but....

    It depends on what your watching, how often and what quality. Traditionally streaming from anywhere on the net will only add about a 5th of the total size of the video file if you downloaded it. So put it this way if you watch a 500mb video it will only add about 100mb to your cap. Its only apporximate and rough guide but its around that.

    Your question is really like asking how fat will eating pizza make me lol lol. ... That all depends .... is the answer! :D

    So important factors are, video quality, how often you stream, size of the file, where you stream from etc.

    sorry thought his was IPTV related! Not 100% sure what BBC/RTE stream rates are.
