Lonergan's in Clonmel closed.

Famous pub in Clonmel has closed according to today's Nationalist.

This used to be a regular of mine years ago and very sad to see.

Mind you I haven't been in there for ages - which I suppose is part of the problem.

yeah it's true,couldn't believe it when i heard the news,they had some good music in there at times.

Rumour has it the Senor Taxman has Mr. Lonergan by the goolies. I can neither confirm nor deny however.

Yeah it came from nowhere, I guess they kept it quiet until they could no longer. Apparently if they fix their account with the Revenue they might open again. The likelihood of this is unknown at this stage. So manty stories ya wouldn't know who to believe. Usual caper.

I always associate Lonergan's with Italia 90, and the qualifiers for same.
Get in position at bar approximately 12 O'Clock (this was the home match against Spain).
Walk home half cut but happy at five.
