    Hey keps,
    thanks, I think. I just started with my D40x last weekend(bought second hand). Managed to capture this character and his dog last weekend in Kerry. As I'm new to photography I'd like to know what you mean by been 1 inch from a classic. See if next time I can capture that "classic".

    I only realised how dull it was exposure wise compared to my other Animal pictures so I reworked the RAW file...

    Much better. Greens a bit over saturated maybe??

    They are but I don't know how to bring down part of a picture in colour. (why I suffer with white/burnt out skies too)
    I'm very much still learning LR2.

    theres a 'recover' slider up at the top you can use to save/bring back some of the highlights in the sky



    theres also a highlight slider(grouped with light,dark,shadows) down further for adjusting curves

    you can also bring down the green levels easily, or change the hue(shade) of green under the above mentioned sliders
