Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah has confirmed that he would be interested in investing his money in a football club.

The Saudi billionaire is reportedly set to invest his considerable funds in Liverpool after being caught pictured sitting with co-owner George Gillett at the 6-1 win over Hull City at Anfield last month.

Gillett is currently in Saudi Arabia as a guest of the Prince with both parties looking to strike up a partnership with the Reds particularly keen on setting up a number of youth academies in the Middle East.

Prince Faisal, chairman of sports investment company F6, refused to specify which club he would be looking to invest in before insisting that the visit of Gillett was purely down to friendship.

"As an investment group definitely we have an eye for many opportunities, let's put it this way," he told Sky Sports News.

"In Europe and Asia and North America and South America how can we be an added value and where can we invest our money and how we can manage and that is all I can say about investing in football clubs.

"This is a purely personal friend to a friend who happens to be a co-owner at Liverpool.

"Definitely we look forward to any kind of venture between any clubs in Saudi Arabia and Liverpool and transfer of knowledge, experience and implementation of Liverpool academy and philosophy to Saudi Arabia and to the sports industry of Saudi Arabia.

"This is the main thing and this is what we are discussing."
    Youth structure

Meanwhile Gillett was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the youth facilities in the country.

"The infrastructure generally I have seen is absolutely amazing the King's commitments to this country and the youth is amazing," he stated.

"The physical facilities that are here, these are as nice as I have seen anywhere around the world. They have got outstanding management.

"I was very pleasantly surprised, there are some wonderful opportunities for us to work together.

"We have a great appreciation for the respect and the government of Saudi Arabia has for the youth of this country and they're committed to both facilities and programmes to bring more and more youth to a higher level in all sports but particularly in football.

"We are pleased to be involved. To help we would be privileged."

    You're figures are way off.
The propossed deal from Carlesberg was £14,000,000 a year.
    Standard Charterd's is £20,000,000.

    Hardly triple.

Edit: Just to clarify, the £14,000,000 I'm reffering to is the ammount that Carlesberg had agreed to increase the sponsership to next season.
They were paying much less (£8,000,000 a season IIRC) previous, but that was a deal signed 5 years ago, and can't be compared with modern sponsership levels.
I believe at the time it was the third highest in the prem.

The £14,000,000 a season would have made it the third highest again as you can't really consider Arsenal due to the dual ponsership of jersey and statium IMO.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh, wrong, tis you who are way off the mark karma.

I dont give a monkeys what carlsberg were 'going' to offer. The fact is, they were dealing with clowns and got a seriously cheap deal for donkeys years. Where are you getting the 8mil figure?........it was never over 7.2 max. They also signed a 2 year extension just before the cl final that was a cumulative 5mil for the 2 years. It was in the echo, i dont have the time to search for a link.

The fact that carlsberg paid 5 mil for 2 years dealing with moores and parry coupled with the new deal coming in shows who the muppets are. While we were winning the champions league our sponsors were paying pennies, even spurs sponsors (mansion house at the time i think) had a better deal in place. Moores and parry love the club but they are/were total idiots.

at least those two had some element of attachment to the club, unlike our custodians who are in it purely to milk us as much as possible & then **** off and are every bit as idiotic as our previous custodian.

They are alot more shrewd and calculating than our previous owners. I wouldn't give a **** about what they were doing if a new stadium was at least underway. Considering that it is not the case, it is impossible to ignore the realities of what the club was before they took over and what it is now..

Yes, there is more money coming in now but there is at least double the increased amount coming in now going out in interest payments for debt that has brought absolutely nothing new to the club.

The club has gone backwards to the extent of 300 million pounds.

If you argue that this doesn't matter because we now have owners that are acutely aware of and know how to exploit the commercial potential of the club, you are a complete retard.

A valiant attempt at changing the subject. Thought it might work there for a while.

Maybe post pics of Aquilani's missus next time?

    Whos arguing?

@mralan......sentiment has no place in business, if it did id be happy seeing king kenny owning the club. The fact is, he couldnt do it. Ditto moores and parry. Its a bit rich, no pun intended, to claim the americans are milking it and not acknowledge that moores would have sold to anyone and i mean anyone who offered a sniff more than DIC.

i have no doubt he would, but at the same time, i don't think he would do that if he'd have known what G&H were planning.

also worth remembering, it was DIC who walked away from the deal when Moores said he needed time to present G&H offer to Shareholders. Something Moores had a legal obligation to do.

Fowler and Macca top two, no doubt about it.

i don't know, i'd change the order i think, but only just, to owen then macca i think. the only reason i would have for having it in your order is due to owen's injuries and subsequent United move.

fowler was loyal and was the cornerstone of a very good Liverpool team in the 90s. he scored 20 goals a season, and but for the utd dynasty, and the arsenal emergence in the late 90s, could well have had at least one league medal to his name.

macca went to real madrid and won leagues and a champions league, as well as being the man, along with fowler, during the roy evans reign.

owen was a prodigy at 18, going to the world cup at that age, became one of Liverpool's greatest goalscorers, as well as becoming one of, and may still become the greatest goalscorer for the national team.

    they fulfilled plenty. ;)
