So, I can go on ahead and buy something now and i'll have 30 euros to spend yeah?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,713 ✭✭✭✭jor el

Should do, yes. It'll use the Paypal balance first, then go to any registered cards for anything over this balance.

    yeah silly me

    Thanks for the help

Won't work. Paypal will only fund from your account balance and one card. You can't spread payment over multiple cards. If you want to buy something for €90, then you'll need €87 on a single 3V voucher with the €3 you have in your account.

so i've 3 euro in 3v and 27 euro in 3v. If I give my mate 70 euro to top up his account and he was to send me the 70 euro in paypal would I have 100 euro to spend?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,713 ✭✭✭✭jor el

Paypal will take a percentage of what you receive as a fee. Google "Paypal fees" to see how to calculate it. The best thing to do is just get a single voucher for the correct amount. Either that or transfer the money from your bank into Paypal. There's instructions on how to do this when you log into Paypal.

Can you send money from 3v to a bank account and how do you do so?

Yeah and 3v charge you €5 euro to transfer money to a bank account.

Go to http://www.3v.ie and login and go to "managae my vouchers" (or something like that it's called) and go to "redeem/transfer" and then "redeem all the the remaining funds to your bank account" and then enter your bank details (if you haven't already done so) and click "submit".

    Hope this helps.

I've recently got a Visa Debit card from Ulster Bank.

When I try to register and verify it, I get this error:
"We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check if the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card."

The details are definitely correct, and my card address matches my Paypal address.

Is there any way to solve this problem?
Can I still use the card, albeit with a lower limit, if it is not verified and confirmed?

A debit card isn't a credit card though.

Does it have all the relevant details required?

Yes it has a number, a CCV number and a expiry date.

A Visa Debit is supposed to be accepted anywhere a Visa CC is accepted.

Is the problem in adding the card, or verifying? If you're trying to verify the address, then that will never work. Verifying a card applies a small charge, with an accompanying verification number, which you then use to verify it.

Adding a card to Paypal can always be a pain, because their system insists on a postcode, and depending on how they feel, it may or may not work.

Yes, I have trouble adding a card and verifying it.

I have done it with my Mastercard, and it worked perfectly, but with my Visa Debit it just says it won't verify it.

I don't really have a problem verifying my address or anything, I just mentioned it as Paypal once gave me trouble over addresses not matching because I had put my street as 'x Road' on one and 'x Rd.' on another (stupid of me, I know!)

I think the problem is just that it is a debit card. I think you can purchase without verifying but that some vendors will insist on verified card.

Just got my statement today in the post, put in my pin and they said they'd refund the fee within 24 hours.
Went to depsoit in Paddy Power but I'm not allowed. Is it because my balance is x amount but my 'available balance' is less than €10, which is the minimum deposit in Paddy Power?
    PayPal are annoying!
    Doocey.

    Dear Poindexter,

    You are welcome.

It seems you use the paypal way few time. Normal the customer are ready to do the payment with paypal, then they will requested the PI, in other said they do the paypal payment depend on the PI, PI content include supplier and customer contact details, products, qty, price, amount and etc.

Attached is our PI for the R4i and Dstti card, you can reference and do a confirmation. If you can accept it and when you finish payment then send to me the paypal payment receipt, once we get the payment then release the goods to you as soon as possiable. Normal 1 to 2 working days can be sent out ! If you can't accept, and won't purchase then forget this . It doesn't matter, when you feel we are reliable supplier, then can contact to us ! It's my pleasure to do the service for you !

Please let me know your finally decision !

Hope can do any help for you !

Free delivery by DHL? Paypal payment to a Hotmail address? Sounds a lot like a scam.

Also it was really considerate of that person to sign the 'authorised signature' in the same font as the form is printed

Tell them that since you sold the goods, you don't own them anymore, and can't prove ownership. Also tell them to release YOUR money or you'll sue them. This is your money after all, and unless Paypal have some sort of proof that the goods weren't yours to sell, tell them where to go.

Solicitor has sent them a letter today!! Await reply

I've an item on sale in the buy and sell. Its been there awhile

Just got an email about it and they want to pay by paypal to Nigeria even though it is now broke and needs to be repaired.

    Total scam

But how do they scam you through pay pal?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,713 ✭✭✭✭jor el

Using a stolen or cloned card, or hacked Paypal account. You send the item, then the card/account owner notices the charge and reverses it. You lose.

    Merged to Paypal thread.

    I added a 3v voucher to paypal and its been verified. When I try to send money to who I am ordering from it says ;

"Sorry, your payment won't go through. To make it work, you'll need to add money to your account and pay with your PayPal balance."

I set my card as my payment option so why is it telling me to add money to my PayPal balance?

There is enough money on the 3V so does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
