Yes it's well worth it, it's a pretty good game.

Kept frighting me everytime the zombies jump out of the vents.

That is a real baragin for once. Dead Space is the best game to come out on the PS3 since Uncharted/COD4. I recommend playing Dead Space on a big screen tv, with a good surround sound system and at night and I guarantee that you'll get a few shocks when the "nasties" attack :D:D
