Smile TV - 132 UPC

Another great channel joins the entertainment section of the EPG on channel 132 (I wouldn't mind if it was in the 500s). This is one you'll be wanting that UPC Digital+HD box for, yes it's Smile TV. Why?

Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't even classify it as an channel. It's even worse than the fantastic Buzz channel and is really a way of taking the p*ss on paying customers. Can't for the life of me believe that ANYONE watches the channel. Oh, why would UPC put something on that people actually would want to watch?

Shame on you (AGAIN) UPC...

What does Smile do? I didn't think it was possible to get worse than Buzz, please explain. :eek:

UPC, can we have some real channels? If we wanted padding, we'd go for Freesat, we pay for a reason. :mad:

Why couldnt we get 5 or maybe ITV 2 3 and 4 instead? IE something people will watch!

I went FTA + DIY loft aerial 6 months ago, I have not regretted it. When I skip past cheap as chips channels in the 500s+ I know its just clutter - not an insult!

where is the Good Food Channel... that's the one i really want and nothing, not one decent food channel in the whole line up!

Why would you add a channel that people actually want when you have quality channels such as Buzz and now Smile? Would make too much sense :eek:

It's ironic really, when talking with UPC sales reps they keep telling me SKY is full of filler channels, UPC only have select quality channels. Buzz TV and Smile TV really provide quality. UPC need to wake up.

Thats two bad channels on the entire line up look what sky have one of them is ocean finance channel...... I rest my case!

Rest away Bazzy, but the channels you refer to are not subscription channels i.e. you don't pay for them. What I'm aware Buzz and Smile are part of the channel package I pay for on UPC :rolleyes:

Most certainly, I pay for these two channels and most certainly object to having women flaunt themselves at 1PM trying to entice folk to ring in on Channel 132. Totally wrong.
I remember when UPC removed FlauntTV, a dance music station I watched all the time, their reason, it wasn't popular. I would love to see their market research to support adding Smile TV which is a soft porn/advertising channel. For a paid for service, I'm very disappointed in UPC here.

Essentially Buzz TV 2 from what I can see. Pretty much a complete waste of space, other that curiosity purposes for their showings of old Lucille Ball shows and Flash Gordon Conquers The Universe.

Where do I start - Its unetchical for softporn to be carried during the daytime and early evening on a channel that is carried in the entertainment section and needs to be passed to access eg Comedy Central 2 or Alibi etc in my opinion.

Buzz and Smile are both the greatest waste of bandwidth ever carried on a cable network.
Hopefully the regulators (BAI ??) shall step in otherwise who knows how low UPC shall go.
