My domain is years old but I have a google pagerank of 0 - Should I be worried?

I'm promoting a website from a friend of mine. the domain has been around for a while but I have recently redesigned the site. I've started a link building campaign and I'm using adwords to promote the site. How on earth could we have a page rank of zero?? Has the site been banned somehow?:confused: Any advice / help…

setup a webmaster tools account with google and there is an option to re-submit your site for reconsideration

eh, yeah 0 is not a good pagerank, im assuming you do have meta tags? :rolleyes:
