Dublin Airport - New Smoking Area AFTER security

Brilliant news if true - always seemed a bit silly that almost every other airport was able to provide a smoking area but Dublin Airport didn't.

So hopefully some smoker here can verify this and report back - location, size, crowd, whether you can have a smoke without buying a €6 beer, etc.

If you are heading for A or D gates there's a set of stairs opposite Boots that leads up to Burger King. Upstairs on the left is a new Bar/Grill & if you walk to the back of it you'll see the new beer garden/smoking area.

Found it myself on Sunday - what a result.

I think they'd encourage you to buy a beer/coffee/tea etc. before using it but i found it handy to slip out without being stopped. It's great that there's finally somewhere to have a smoke in the airport instead of cramming 10 smokes in before heading for security!

Hey can anyone confirm that this smoking area is still there? flying today and checking if I need to have my last cigarette before going through security?

Yes, but its in Terminal 1, the original one, and its outdoors, so bring an umbrella.

No idea if there is one in T2, havent been in it yet

No Smoking area in T2 that I know of. Pain in the ass as it means that I have to trek up to T1 every Sunday for my pre-flight smokes.
