I dont think so. What you want now would be a recorder that would work through a scart output. That box seems to only work as a built in tuner and hard drive so would only record from what it has on its own tuner.
As a chorus stb is its own tuner then that hitachi box wont work.

Look for a hard drive recorder that will record from a scart input so you watch programs on the stb from chours , run the feed through scart to the hard drive recorder then out from that to the tv. Same set up as a dvd or vhs recorder.
