Pubs that serve foreign beer?

adam - finally found one in bandon that servers WarSteiner on tap + has the bottles too. Also serves Budvar. Pint of warsteiner is €3.80 and bottle of it is €3.80. Can someone compare prices for me? The name of the pub is "little norah's". not sure if they do grolsch too.

Don't Lebowski's do Edinger for 3.90? Wouldn't 'foreign' beers generally be about 20% more expensive than most?

/me grins and points out that Heineken, Bud and Carlsberg all meet the definition of "foreign beers". On the other hand I suppose they are brewed here.

Budvar is still 35 cents a litre in Tesco* btw

*admittedly it's the big Tesco in Prague

Loads of places serve Erdinger!

On tap? I only know of the Exchange and the Trinity. I don't get around town as much as I used to though.

Dunno about anywhere else but the Project in Temble Bar sells Red Stripe (Jamaican beer). Real nice.

I can recommend Watou's in The Raven. Lovely wheat beer from Belgium. Costs a little bit more than a pint of lager for about a half litre tankard/glass. They have some other continental beers... I think Erdinger and Warsteiner, plus I think I saw Tiger beer in the fridge.

The Oval also serves Budvar and a few other foreign beers. All in bottles and I don't know the price. I got half-hooked on the Budvar drinking it morning, noon and night in the Czech Republic so I hope they get the plant up and running again.

the best place in cork is The Abbotts Ale House on devonshire Street (Near City Limits), they have dozens of foreign beers on tap and bottled.

next best would probably be the Franciscan well on the north mall.

The Franciscan well and Eurobeer (specialist beer importers) run 2 great beer festivals in cork every year (easter & october bank holidays weekends), both are free admission and usually stuffed to the gills so keep an eye out for flyers, etc and get there early, usually they end up turning people away.

i had some Japenese beer a few times at various noodle houses while I was living in Dublin.

quite nice actually too.

i don't eat out much in Cork, but I guess a japanese resturaunt would have some. Can't thing of any Japanese resturaunts in Cork tho.

The Franciscan Well (North Mall) are having their annual Beer Festival this easter on the sat and sun of the bank holiday weekend featuring:

loads of strange and exotic beers
beer garden
BBQ
music
free admission
etc

Following the enormous success of last weekends easter beer fest at the Franciscan Well, Eurobeers have announced a Cider fest for the saturday and sunday of the june bank holiday weekend featuring scandanavia's top selling ciders from the Kopparbergs company + all the usuals as well.

check out the Abbots Ale House too on Devonshire Street, really nice pub, 'tis my local of choice at the moment now that the Castle is full of rugby types.

thanks a million but the last time i went to the well was at the easter beer fest and i got well and truly sloshed, think i might take it easier this time. not go straight for the highest alcohol content on an empty stomach.

a full tum is essential before hitting those deadly foreign beers, nip into Oz for the Jumbo breakfast before heading over to the wel, massive nosh up fry for about 7.50.

Great grub and nice folk working there too, especially Claire the manager, dead sound.
