Got my first tat today, fairly simple compared to most. But as I've lost my tat virginity now, I have my second piece picked out ready for October, much more complex etc...

A day old, based on a greek shield. Turned out a lot different to what I had planned and I'm happy it did now :)

How did you want it done originally? Did the artist just change it as he/she went without consulting you or was there talk between you both as it was progressing?

Either way, I like. Good to hear that you are pleased with it too.

Nah he just said he reckoned it would look much better with shading ( I'd asked for flat black) and described what he had in mind, it sounded good so I just let him go for it.

I had the exact same thing with my goose, turned out way better than I originally planned.

Love the tattoo by the way.

Famous last words. I remember saying the exact same thing after my first one. Now six tattoos later, I'm planning to steal some time to get one more.

You picked a great design and great size. For a first piece, that is the biggest one I've seen. Does it have special meaning?
Ive the same problem, there should be a sign in the door advising that tattoos are extremely addictive.ive got 2,but want more...any ideas on how to stop??

    n9370467_53400263_2395.jpg

Got this done back in December. This is maybe 3 days later.

    n9370467_53447742_4611.jpg

Will be the finished product plus the family name in the banner.

Drew it up all myself, combined crest / COA from both sides of the family with a little embellishment.

    Like/dislike? Suggestions?

Wow, love that tatt. Especially the colours!

That's excellent, who's the artist ? The family crest was something I considered getting done years back but could'nt settle on a design.

One side wouldn't be Kelly would it?

The artist is Tim at Tattoo Mark's Studio II in State College, PA USA. He's done all four of my tattoos and at a great rate for customs. The family is Cox/Eldridge but the design extends back a few generations to hit all the immigrant family members and bring in a piece of their background.
