What year is that reg? My older brother used to have a Mk 2 Escort which he bought new with the reg 237 LI, he didn't want a ZLI *** reg so he drove it round for about 6 months with hand written cardboard "For Reg" plates on it, God be with the days! :D

That car is ZV8833. Nice car with dreadful 'Honda 50' type trafficators under the bumpers!

Paris today. Classic Cars are practically non-existant. Every day cars Ive seen are Renault 25(lots of, more than Safrane's..),21,11,5. Peugeot 104 x 2, Citroen 2cv x 2...., Alfa Romeo Spider and a nice Peugeot 404 convertible that had a lot of web cams attached to it, maybe for youtube or live tv:confused:.

Renault 8 and 5 Turbo are from Renault's own historic collection, on view at their Champs Elysee showroom.

There was some sort of DeLorean owners club event on on Sunday, I passed about 15 or so on the M4 araound mid-day.

Have to say I was not impressed with their conduct, they had stopped to assemble on the hard shoulder of the motorway between the Kilcock and Maynooth exits, as I say about 15 DeLoreans and assorted hangers-on with guys walking up and down next to the traffic which was very heavy at the time.

My first impression on coming on them was that there had been an accident and slowed accordingly. There could easily have been an accident as others did not and then some braked hard to rubber neck.

Am I not correct in thinking that the hard shoulder is for emergancy use only?

and a few more. I also spotted a very nice Mercedes tailfine 190. The owner of the Renault Estafette told me that it was built in 1979.

it certainly is. I called into a garage in belgium recently where a similiar one was in the showroom.. the boot lid was open and I glanced in. Something looked a bit too modern. the owner had put in a renault megane engine!
this was a r8 rather than a gordini and i think it was for racing.
    regards,

Dublin 4 seems to be the new place to see old cars that were once common. This morning I saw a particularly well looked after '91 Opel Vectra A parked outside the Mespil Hotel, a '91 Volvo 940 GLE saloon and an old KP 70 Starlet both parked on Pembroke Road amongst others.

France is full of old cars, many of which are still in everyday use. Fair play to them I say for not 'keeping up with the Jones'', unlike it shallow twats that live in this country.

Saw these two just outside Cork City earlier today.
The first one was an immaculate 68 C reg Mini estate. She was in perfect condition and I got up close to it later that night when it was parked and there wasn't one spot of rust on it.

Then, just down the road I saw this yoke at the lights on a trailer. I don't have a clue what it is but it was tiny.

and I forgot to include these 3, the first is LHD so extremely rare, included the 1998 car as it was a concept car but it differs from its publicity pictures so there may have been two built. If France is full of old cars, then Im afraid that Paris isnt.......... I have yet to find a DS or Renault Dauphine..... and the 4th picture is motor-related, its the family tomb of the Panhard family and according to the map they created the Panhard et Lavassor company
