Ive a 300w trace elliot combo thats been the love of my life for the last 12 years. Never once let me down.

However, Im gigging 3-4 nights a week, the trace is a 2 man lift so I want something lighter but that doesnt compromise on quality, ie, a working mans amp. Someone show me the magic.

What sort of budget? Perhaps a Trace Elliott head and 2x10 cab? Should be a bit lighter and more manageable.

the head and 2x10 would be lighter alright but would prefer a combo.

Hadnt really thought of a budget, not 000s, but would consider high hundreds if it was right. I was at a gig a few months ago in whelans, fella had something the size of a large biscuit tin, I was locked so cant remember the make, think it was an ebs, sound was incredible and he walked out after the gig with a bass on his back, bag in one hand and the amp in the other with no bother.

it was most likely the neo 12.

I've got a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 head that's probably about the same size as a biscuit tin, bit lighter tho. :pac: There's a bag for it also (that I got), not much bigger than a laptop bag and you could easily sling it over your shoulder with a bass also. That just leaves a cab to worry about. They have small ones also.

Here it is in its bag sittin' on the edge of my couch. ;)

I'm in the market for a new rig at the moment too, and weight is important factor also!
I have orange guitar amp and I love it, so I've been checking out the new terror bass head, with one of those new SP210 cabs. You get it for just about a grand or under. Super lightweight! and super small! Fairly new so haven't found many reviews, but apparently has same preamp section as ad200...

I've not got to try one but the Markbass LMII (little mark) gets a lot of love for small and light. They also do combos such as this one:
