The second video is fascinating. Anybody who can create mechanisms so organic in their nature like his machines is an absolute genius.

He reminds me of Theo Jansen, here's a clip which shows a general overview of Theo's work:

LSD - The Beyond Within

I always found this documentary extremely fascinating. Explores a time when psychedelic drugs intrigued scientists and were embraced as opposed to the abhorrance and ignorance which exists for them today.

I watched this (Google Video) BBC documentary last night and thought it was brilliant.

Blurb:

Inspired by the actual events that have intrigued and baffled historians for more than 50 years, Copenhagen revolves around a 1941 meeting between two brilliant physicists, Niels Bohr of Denmark and Germany's Werner Heisenberg; long-time friends whose work together had opened the way to the atomic bomb, but who were now on opposite sides of World War II. The Primacy of Consciousness is an absolutely fascinating talk by Peter Russell. It explores the phenomenon of consciousness, but not only that, he explains certain quantum physical concepts in a brilliant way, and relates them to consciousness. It's brilliant.
