    This kind of thing makes me physically ill. The only way to combat these things is by voting with your feet. It is the reason that I never go to the circus, and only visit wildlife parks...not zoo's where animals are caged in tiny areas(Dublin zoo, no matter how much enrichment you give your animals, there is just not enough SPACE).
    Authorities need to be given the powers to deal with cases of animal cruelty/neglect in proportionate way. Its difficult to justify jailing someone for animal cruelty, when there are people who don't get jailed for child cruetly
