I moved into a new house recently. There is an aerial outside, and we are subscribed to Chorus.
There is one of those small boxes in the room, for hooking up the aerial to.
I connected this to the back of my tv, but got absolutely nothing on the tv.

Now, i also have a set top box type thing that i got from aldi. i tried hooking up the aerial from the wall into it, and the aerieal from the box into the tv.

I got some stations - Sky, E4 and Living tv. Yet all the other stations are fuzzy.
I haven't a clue why this is happening.

If i got an aerial booster, would it fix this problem?

    Where are you ?

What type TV have you got ?

What type of box did you buy from aldi ? I didnt think aldi sold cable boxes ? You are not using a satellite box connected to an aerial by any chance?

This might be more appropriate in Cable.

Ok, my bad. I'm in Dublin, and the TV is from Ireland, but the box on the top was gotten in Northern Ireland. (In Asda, not Aldi. My mistake)

OK sounds like youve bought a freeview (UK DTT) box and are plugging into a cable TV socket

Although why you only get three channels and why the DTT box should make any difference is a bit of a mystery ?????
