hey im having a problem with my series link:(..
All the programmes that i have set for series link are showing up in my tv planner as not yet available.. i have 5 programmes set to series link and home and away is one of them and thats going to be on tomorrow yet its still showin up as not yet available..
It happened before and i had to reset all the series links but i thought that was because i had plugged out the box and ariel going into the upc box and it might of interfered with it. This time i haven't touched the box and they're coming up as not yet available( i set them all up again there a about a week ago)... any one had the same problem or have any idea what's wrong?
    thanks

I've come across a few reports about Series Link not working too well.
    Were these teething problems?
    Does is work well now?
How does it compare against Sky+?

after many attempts to contact UPC I finally got through today.

they had me do a factory reset. now I just have to wait until Sunday and see if that worked.

also they told me series link only works between 6pm and midnight, but I've used it plenty of times outside of that

I can't get series link to work for Reeling in the Years on RTE1. I have it set up to record Monday - Friday at 18:30 to 19:00 but still - odd that I can't series link it.

Otherwise, I've had no problems with it at all, now that I've figured out how to use it properly. It's turned out to be v handy and you can check for scheduling conflicts etc etc. Sometimes, it'll even show other recording times if there is a conflict and you can select whichever viewing you want to record.

I'm with UPC a few weeks now and I find that, compared to SKY, their version of "series link" is rubbish.

It constantly looses the information and each week I have to re-do the series I watch - Harpers Island, Bones, Criminal Minds.

It also cannot tell the difference between repeats and the original episodes, e.g. it will record both the monday and saturday episodes of harper's island.

I don't think they really have it together on this feature, some series will not series link even though they are on every week, for that I resort to the manual setup.

Spon farmer, did that reset work?

I've had the dvr for 3 weeks now, and am constantly getting 'not yet available' after the linked programme has recorded. I've been re-setting the series link very day.

I've been onto UPC support a few times about it. They don't seem to have heRd of this problem, one guy even had not heard of series link.

On top of this problem, my new box keeps resetting itself, at least once each night, sometimes twice.

They're sending an engineer out to me next week to take a look. I told them that as far as I was concerned the box is faulty and does not work as advertised and I want it replaced. They agreed, but not confident that the engineer will replace the box.

    Hi chaps,

the shows I record on Sunday (which I usually have to "re-link" on Sunday) recorded just fine.

However, when I checked My Planner this evening any show that is series linked is listed as "not yet available" as soon as the box records the "current" episode. effectively, the UPC series link is nothing more than a way to organize the Video Recorder section neatly because it not link anything.

the "information not available" on recordings was a problem before, but not lately.

    an unfunny joke:mad:

ours has been fairly good at scheduling overlaps and using repeats when necessary.

Never had a problem, occasionally when looking at the planner the information for shows shows "Not Yet avaliable" but the times and dates of all future episodes are listed and it records them.

Same here. It defo knows the difference between the original show and repeats and will only tape the repeat IF theere's an overlap problem.
It's working fine for me EXCEPT it won't let me link Boston Legal on Living.
Very happy with it in general. And looking forward to VOD next year.

It will also do it if you delete episodes from the series without deleting the series link itself. I recorded the last Top Gear series when it was first on and deleted all the episodes, but now it's being repeated it started recording them all over again until I deleted the whole link.
