OK, I know this has been asked before but... there were so many threads and some a bit old that I was confused....
what is the best place (or reasonably priced) place to have your guitar setup? basic setup really, intonation, action adjustment, maybe truss rod too, nothing fancy or highly technical... I know I could prob do some of these things myself but I want my guitar to sound as prefect as possible.
Oh, don't forget to include an approx cost, I'd appreciate that.:D

PS: How long does it take? days, hours, less??

EDIT: oops forgot that Dord, Im in Dublin, thanks in advance

    Ok cool :)

Well you're in luck then... if you want your guitar to sound and play as good as possible then Derrick Nelson in Marlay Park is your man! Not sure how long you'll be waiting ( could be a few weeks depending how busy he is ) or how much it costs (varies on each guitar and what the issues are). His number and details are in the Musical instruments resources sticky at the top of this forum. :)

As Dord says Derrick Nelson is very defnitely the best but he is also expensive and can take a very long time.
If you're just looking for something basic and your guitar is not top of the range then most music shops will probably do an OK job, almost certainly cheaper and faster.
Sound Gear at Portobello Bridge did a good basic setup for me, think it cost 35ish about 2 years ago.

I have tried a few guys around Dublin but I can put my hand on my heart and say there is no one better than Derrick Nelson. Yes he is not cheap, but his initial setup of your guitar is second to none. I got my Hagstrom super swede back from him yesterday after 3 weeks; refretted, bridge moved to give more travel for intonation tweeking, action calibration, pickup calibration, a crack in the body repaired, new bone nut and some replacement hardware all for €485. Yes that is a lot of money to most people these days but after pluging it into my AC30 last night it feels and sounds better than any equivilant €1500 + Les Paul..
