    Hey all,

Just registered with Amazon.co.uk as there's a 1TB Hard Drive on it I want and they seem to have the best price.

    I want to buy this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buffalo-Drivestation-External-Hard-Drive/dp/B001ER6CIW

(Well actually, I want to buy two of them).

I registered with my address and credit card, etc. as you do, and I expected a postage cost would appear on the screen once they knew where I was from. Apparently this isn't the case. So can someone please tell me how I figure out how I find out what the shipping costs are?

When I add it to my basket, it tells me to fill in the address and then the only button under that is "Despatch to this address" and I'm afraid to click that incase it processes the order. Obviously I don't want to buy it if the postage will be ridiculously high.

Can anyone offer some insight into Amazon's way of working here?

Cheers to anyone able to help me out here (also, if anyone knows where i can get that same HDD cheaper from another reputable seller, please let me know :) )

    Thanks!

You can click on the dispatch to this address button and then select the type of postage you require before confirming your order. If you look at the top of the screen when in the checkout it gives a list of steps you have to go through before the order is confirmed.

It will also tell you if the item can be dispatched to your address some larger items can't be sent to Ireland.

Other good sites for electronics are pixmania.ie or play.com have used all three before without any problems.

I understand your hesitation. I find myself doing the same thing on there.

I've just used the link you've provided (not going to purchase, though) and it says it can't ship to my address, you may get the same message. They do seem to ship more electronic products here now, but there seems to be a good bit that they don't even through their marketplace system, too.

In terms of postage, you should get a breakdown of that via email (once the order is confirmed), but also, there a page or two does follow the dispatch option because once you've hit that, it goes to a page with your credit card details and you select that to make sure it's in order **** 1234, Visa, etc, usually.

Bit like this^^, or what D_BEAR has said. If you're happy with the price and delivery details you can go ahead.
