I don't think there are many media players that play Flacs/Shns/Oggs etc. because they're open source formats. So unless you put Rockbox on or convert them to another format (I like Foobar2000 for that) you don't have much choice.

There's quite a few, the likes of Cowon, iriver, Sandisk, samsung and archos sell vorbis/flac supporting players. Apple will never support these formats as they have no control over them or their development - ie specs may change over time meaning more work for apple (that and apple have their own lossless format that they'd like to pimp)

For Irish buyers, over-the-counter, the easiest Flac player would probably be the Sansa Fuze and the Sansa Clip.

I'm eyeing up a Sansa Fuze at the moment. I'm drifting away from iTunes a little more each day..
