For many a year I've played fps's(single-player) and always thought I was pretty handy but yesterday I joined a cod lan with one of my friends and suffice to say I was nothing but cannon fodder.

My problem is I use the arrows instead of a,w,s,d which you can't really since the others buttons are out of reach when using the arrows.I see 2 options either (a)get used to using a,w,s,d which I really don't want to or (b)get a 5/8 button mouse?

On that note can any1 recommend a good 5/8 button mouse?

You can still set binds around arrows. Just need to be close. Find a setup that works for you. Would have agreed with the 'cannon fodder' comment if you weren't using the mouse at all!

Logitech G5/MX518 or Razer Death Adder are probably the most popular gaming mice out there and provide the extra buttons you're after. I tend to use the side buttons for stuff like nades/knife attack in COD4.

Well not exactly cannon fodder..... but I find even the buttons near the arrows there's still to much of a gap, whereas there's no space between a,s etc to another button which is way I think the extra buttons on the mouse might be the solution,I can react quicker.(well a little bit quicker)

play with wasd, in a few hours you will be just as comfortable using them as the arrow keys
