Want a steel string acoustic with low action :F Any ideas?

Looking for a new steel string acoustic.
Have been playing classical guitars up to now so I'm not too used to high action steel strings :P

Was thinking about a folk guitar, mainly because I like to play blues and folk :rolleyes:.. Not sure what the action is like on them though :F

If anyone knows any brands or specific guitars that usually have very low action please tell

Any acoustic guitar can have the action lowered by filing down the saddle, filing down the nut and possibly altering the truss rod slightly. Most luthiers would charge about 40€ for it. I wouldn't worry about it .

Go out and play some acoustic guitars until you find one that you think feels and sounds right. Then buy it, play it for a couple of weeks and see if you want the action changed. Bear in mind, that the reason you want a particularly low action is because you're used to nylon strings. But complete beginners with no experience at all who start on steel strings, seem to get used to it pretty quickly .

Low action has disadvantages, as you know. Slightly less sustain, more buzzing and less scope for dynamics. Buy a steel string with normal action, get used to it, and you'll find pretty soon that you dont care about the action anymore .
