^^ thats in Carlow, isn't it ? I remember seeing it in a Shopping Center last year (unless they move it around for display, although I'd say they are pretty heavy !) .

Dublin the last few months. In an empty shop.

    Bective Abbey last night.

Where is the access to Bective? Just crossing the fence? Is it public/private land / right of way / didn't stop to ask ;) ?

I don't have my high res scans from the Oxegen weekend yet, but I'm quite happy with what's been developed so far. Here's a sneak preview of what's to come. And one of my lovely new shirts.

Shot on a Mamiya 645, 80 2.8 and Ilford XP2, printed on Fuji colour paper for some funky colour casting.

There's an entrance right there off the road, it's easy to get into, and it's a tourist attraction, so public enough :)

What does free Fuji Film mean?

thanks oshead - nothing too complicated as far as I can remember. A kinda xp type thing using the blue channel on a curves adjustment layer will give you the retro blue sky look (drag from the top corner rather than along the tone curve, if that makes sense). On the silhouette one a texture was laid on top and set to soft light. On the beach hut one - most of the look + reflection comes comes from the 2 dirty windows...:o. Lighting on the couple in the 2nd one was from a gelled flash bounced off the window on the couples side.

As Fajitas! says, just off the road. Park in one of the farm gates and walk the 30 yards. You should take a pic of the old iron gate into the field with the little one man gate set in it. Just be careful, it's a wicked busy tight road!

Far safer to park in the pub carpark up the road to be honest. Some nice scenery over the bridge also. And a horsey.

Wear boots with a good grip on the soles.

There's also a cottage just up from the abbey that makes a ticking noise. I'd show you a photo, but I've to renew my pro account on Flickr, and I'm not really arsed with that at the moment.

I suspect the "ticking" noise you heard was the electric fence earthing of the bushes or something. I heard it too.

Thanks for that. I've been playing around in PS a lot recently trying to achieve a retro/gritty/crossprocess look that i'm happy with. Nice work with the gell in the 2nd one btw.

Actually, I think it's earthed in the cottage, there's a switch in there too afaik, but it makes it sound so more much adventurous when I titled my photo "The Ticking Cottage".

    Yes, I am that sad.
