A friend just got off the phone to UPC asking them to switch off the Setanta package - remember last week there was no fee for downgrading?

Well, he was advised by Customer care that he'd be charged €10 per channel that they would switch off - a total of €40 to be added on the next bill!

What on earth is going on?

In his frustration he total them to switch off all but the Setanta Digital basic with effect from the date his bill is due i.e. 21st July.

They cut them off immediately.

Ding-Dong - can you assist?

sounds like you got through to a moron, ask him to call back and there will be no charge.
