    It's funny though - porn's not really socially accepted (especially in Ireland where it seems to be viewed as "dirty"), yet it's a multi billion dollar industry.
    I'd say more than a few of those people publicly tut tutting and "not understanding" why people like porn must be contributing to those billions...

    Where did I say that or even allude to it? If anything it's exactly the opposite. The reason most people like a pornstar is because they are physically attractive to the individual and is something quite subjective (as evidenced by the responses on this thread).

    Conversely, most punters like a footballer simply for no other reason than they do well WHILST wearing *their* uniform. But if exact same player joins another club, wears a different uniform he is now a subject for abuse by the aforementioned people who once cheered him. It's retarded behavior.

    You're talking nonsense tbh. Surely if you like any performer whether it is in porn or soccer, you are going to remember their name? I mean do you actually think that ppl sit in dark rooms learning off porn stars name?

    Or would it not make sense that if you see a girl that you like that you remember her name automatically? Some ppl obviously have less of a memory for these things but it is a bit ridiculous to try and take the piss just because someone can remember a name.

    I wouldn't find it strange at all. Sure it's the same as naming your top 10 tv shows/bands/sports stars etc.
    It's nothing more than ranking people above someone else - we do it subconsiously on a daily basis - that's why people have best friends and regular joe soap friends, than just a bunch of friends.
    Have you never rated the girls you work with/are in college with? Sure is it not the same as that? And you remember the names of the majority of those girls, so what's weird about remembering pornstar names?
