    Personally I think we should all cast our votes on this thread. It is far more transparant, and since the voting cannot be anonymous anyway it makes no real difference.

    Hah, thanks for the votes but seriously now I've been out of Trinity for two years, and I'm not even often around here that much. Which I think also means I can't be a hack.

    mardybumbum, it's difficult to define a hack... some people see it as someone who is involved in something for themselves rather than for the good of the society/club, others see it as someone who is repeatedly involved in clubs and societies (often at committee level of these), and I'm sure there are lots of other definitions (indeed, I think there was a thread way back when on this!). dan719, I assume, considers me a hack because I argued in favour of the Students' Union and possibly as someone who was very involved in the SU before.

    Generally in college though 'hack' and 'SU' seem to appear quite often closely together in the same sentence, and it is usually used in a derogitory manner. Why? Who knows.

    thought i should explain my thanks giving up there, the nomination for PFM or rather the nickname made me laugh, but i love that girl so i'll vote for her too

    donal thats a decent enough definition of a hack, but you forgot people who can never leave...having left two years ago doesnt stop you getting a hack award, infact it helps the case for it
