Its going quite well isn't it? But I fear that if I start to back the selections with halfway decent money ie fivers and tenners, it'll all dry up :(

I've been doing fiver and tenner bets for the last week following these tips and i'm sitting with a nice stash.
Mel Collier is in the hot seat today. I'm lookin forward to his tips.

We don't ask much do we :)

I don't think I've bet more than a 5er on a win and a 10er on a place over the last few days and I'm still up about 300. I love this thread.

What time does the tips get posted at?
I seem to be missing out a little on the prices since I don't back them straigh away.
Also has anybody opened up multiple online accounts just to get the free bets?? And then place the money on a more or less sure thing and then withdraw?

The prices are PP and the selections are posted between 12.15 and 12.45 as a rule, sometimes they are a bit later (all depends on the RP website, as the picks are supposed to be online from 12.00 but never are). Most PR picks will shorten quite a bit in the first hour.

I gotta say I love the appropriate new title to this thread.

Two picks by Tom Segal and one by Mel Collier, its up to you!

me and my mate are having a barney in work here.............

can you put a bet on 3 horses all to place. i.e.

€10 Mutamaashi, Spring Of Fame and Brunston all place. so all 3 have to place in their respective races to win.

what kind of odd are ye talking out of interest
    cheers!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

You can do a reverse tricast, so if they all finish in the top 3 you'll make a tidy sum (bet return cannot be caluclated ahead of the race I'm afraid).

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 1,713 ✭✭✭Soldie

I'm just trying to figure out the most intelligent way to bet on these tips. Naturally there's more chance of the horse placing as opposed to winning, so would it be more wise to lump more on the place and then a smaller seperate bet on the win to ensure profits? If you bet the same amount each way on each horse, especially if you're backing two or three horses in the same race, are you not going to come out losing money?

How have people been betting on these?

    Soldie

Not sure, but the 4.20 pays to FIVE places so the mulitple e/w angle is not as potentially wasteful as it might have been.
