advice for making one off Sign

Hi folks, please feel free to move me away if I'm not in the best forum for this! I'm really needing couple of tips about getting suitable cardboard backing or anything else for a one off sign? I need to just put a few words on it too. Don't want to spend a great deal on this either. Any advice would be great. Cheers!

Not sure how this is connected with politcs. What type of sign are you trying to create (ie its purpose)?
