    SWL

    Week 2:

Live from Buffalo, New York! The crowd can be seen going nuts. Obviously.

    rant.jpg

Sting comes to the ring to a thunderous pop. He’s limping slightly, and the scars on his face are obvious. He surveys the arena from the centre of the ring, hoisting the belt in the air and acknowledging the crowd’s appreciation. He puts the mic to his mouth, but as he is about to speak he is interrupted by none other than Terry Funk.

    funk01.jpg

This is met with strong boos. Funk comes from behind the curtain screaming ‘YOU DIDN’T BEAT ME’ over and over again. He walks from side to side on the stage continuing to look deranged. He stops looks at Sting, and demands a rematch. Not in front of these New York wannabes, but in Texas, at Reckoning. Sting, again, is about to speak, but they are interrupted on stage by Arn Anderson, who, looks bemused by the whole situation. He starts shaking his head.

    2546059112_c0da5374f7.jpg?v=0

Arn explains to Funk that they had a deal. ‘I take out Sting during the match, I get the next title shot. I took care of my side of things, it’s not my fault you didn’t do yours. Sting is mine.’ The crowd reacts with surprise that there was an official deal in place. Funk denies the deal, shaking his head violently. Arn tells Funk that he knew he’d probably react that way, so he took the precaution of taping the conversation. Arn shows the tape on the Tron. Funk and Arn go nose-to-nose.

Sting lets out a customary howl from the ring. The crowd pops. Sting calls Arn and Funk both pathetic. Between the two of them they couldn’t get the job done. And because they couldn’t he is the World Heavyweight Champion. Funk reminds Sting that Mike Tyson (at which point the crowd again pops) would not be showing his face again, so next time he won’t be so lucky. In fact he didn’t even show his face the first time, he had to do it undercover. If he had come to him man-on-man, Funk claims he’d have knocked Tyson out. At this point Sting, along with Arn, and then the crowd, start laughing. Funk starts going ballistic.

Owner Mr Slick then appears on the Tron to sort this situation out. There will be a match later between Funk and Arn, with the winner going on to Reckoning to take on the champion. Sting lets out a howl in the ring, his music hits, and we cut to commercial.

    180px-Briscoe-Brothers.jpgrougeau_brothers5.jpg

The Briscoes come out before their non-title match with The Rougeaus. They explain that even though The Rougeausare champions, let’s face it, they aren’t in their league. They are younger, more dynamic, and simply better than every other tag team in the SWL. At this point the Rougeaus come out. They look bemused. They look at each other, hoist the belts in the air laughing, and make their way to the ring for the match.

The match is a fast paced contest. The Briscoes dominate for much of their contest with their typical dynamic, in your face, high flying style. The Rougeaus get some momentum and ground Mark. Jay gets a hot tag, cleans house, hits Jacques with the Death Valley Driver. Mark goes to put him away. But like last week, Raymond pulls Jacques out and they scurry away and are counted out.

    Dudley_Boyz.jpg

However The Dudleys come out, and are at the top the ramp. They set up a table and sit on it. The Rougeaus jump into the crowd and run. The Dudleys and Briscoes are left staring at each other from ring to ramp.

    stars_e_PaulHeyman.jpg

Backstage Paul Heyman can be seen and heard talking to someone who the audience cannot see. He tells them how delighted he is, almost grovelling in his gratitude. He tells this person that he can’t wait to unleash him on an unsuspecting SWL. He will dominate as nobody ever has before.

Back from break, and Jimmy Rave is in the ring. He looks ready, but he doesn’t know who his opponent’s going to be. Much to his surprise Heyman makes his way on to the ramp. He said has a promise to fulfil. He is proud to introduce a man who, not only will save the SWL, but he will dominate the SWL.
‘I give you the two-time world champion, at 550lbs, the man from the Orient, the immovable object, my immovable object, and the man who will lead me to domination. YOKOZUNA!’

    0626_rodney_full.jpg

There is shock in the arena as Yokozuna makes his way to the ring, enters, and just stands there. Jimmy Rave doesn’t know where to look. The crowd is gasping as Yoko continues to stare at Rave. All of a sudden Yoko superkicks him, leg drops him, drags him to the corner and hits the Banzai Drop for the win. Under Heyman’s instructions Yoko continues to Banzai Drop Rave a further 5 times to a chorus of boos. Refs come in. Yoko gets his arm raised by Heyman and he shouts once more...’I give you........ YOKOZUNA!’ Goes to break.

    esp3pt.jpgImg38.jpgxavier.jpg

Austin Aries and Barry Windham have a match. Xavier is on commentary. He talks about his respect for Aries, and how it was an honour to be in the ring with him last week. And he was even more proud to get a win against him, even though it was with a little help. Aries hits a high flying manoeuvre. Xavier stands up and claps. Aries comes towards him, looks at him, then slaps him in the face. Xavier falls to the ground. Windham takes control in the ring, is about to hit his Lariat Clothesline; Aries ducks, hits his Brainbuster. As he goes up top, Xavier gets up and shoves him off the top rope. Windham gets up, hits him with the Lariat for the win. Xavier runs up the ramp holding his jaw, without looking back. Aries recovers and walks up the ramp with purpose.
    Go to break

A promo package for ‘Reckoning’ is shown.

    blanchard.jpg

Windham is shown backstage, walking towards his dressing room. Tully Blanchard attacks him from behind with a pipe, taking him out cold. He starts shouting at Windham ‘Huh, am I scared am I? Am I ducking you am I? The Swl fans can go to hell. I’m champion for a reason. I’m the best, and I take on all-comers. See you next week punk’. We don’t know whether Windham heard any of that as he’s out cold. Medics tend to him.

A video is again shown of Shamrock’s recovery programme. He doesn’t know when he’ll be back. But one thing’s for sure, the only thing getting him through each day of rehab is the thought of beating Terry Funk within an inch of his sad, sorry and psychotic life.

And so to our main event of the night...

Arn Anderson v Terry Funk is a match, according to the commentators, of PPV size proportions; and this live crowd should thank their lucky stars that they get to see it. The match is very physical at the start. Both man are trying to prove they are the dominant competitor. It’s back and forth. There is a bout of pure wrestling next. Funk breaks out an array of suplexes and submission holds. Anderson targets the left shoulder of Funk using beat downs and a variety of armbars. As the contest comes to a climax, Arn hits his spinebuster, but Funk kicks out. As Arn complains to the ref, Funk goes into his boots to find some brass knucks. He hits Arn, who falls on the ref, and throws the evidence away. Funk drags Arn up for the piledriver. He’s facing the ramp.

    mike%20tyson%20pigeon.jpg

As he’s about to hoist Arn up, a deafening cheer goes up as Tyson comes out onto the ramp. Funk let’s Arn go, who falls to the canvas pretty limp, and starts yelling maniacally while leaning against the ropes. He’s literally spitting with rage. Tyson just stands there, staring a hole into Funk. Arn takes advantage of the lengthy distraction by hitting a low-blow, cradling Funk as the ref recovers and counts the 3. The crowd pops loud for Tyson costing Funk again.

Arn’s hand is raised outside the ring, and is the new no. 1 contender. The last shot of the show is of Tyson pumping his chest out, arms out-strectched, a bit like a certain injured superstar! Some of the crowd can be heard popping.

    So looking to next week...
-We got another clue, but what is Tyson doing here?
    -What’s his beef with Funk?
-We have a new no. 1 contender to Sting’s World Title. Will this kick off next week?
-How will a clearly frustrated Austin Aries react to losing yet again, thanks to the upstart Xavier?
-How will the Rougeaus explain another week of cowardice? Will they bother? What will the Dudleys and Briscoes do about it?
-How will Windham react to Tully’s attack?
    -And what of Yoko?

Find out all this and more when you tune in for the next show!

    FWE MAYHEM

We open this weeks tapings with Mr.Kennedy in the ring to address the crowd of his actions last week.

K So im guessing each and everyone of you hear tonight wanna know why i did what i did to Jeff Hardy last week. Well to be honest you people dont deserve to no (boo from the crowd) but since im such a nice guy i will tell you. You see ive been in this business for along time and ive been in many low rate promotions but i realized that to get noticed is to make a big impact , So i did that last week and it felt quite good , but the main reason i did it was to get the attention of the World Heavyweight Champion himself. Just before Mr.Kennedy could finish Edge's music hits and he walked towards the ring

EAs much as i enjoyed seeing you bash Jeff Hardy over the head with a chair last week but dont get to many ideas because you see i am next for a World Heavyweight Championship and will again become World Heavyweight Championship

KLook man i no we could easily go back and forth saying who should face Jeff for the title.....ME.... but look how about we face each other tonight and the winner goes to face Jeff at Royal Mania.

This would leave Devitt and Hernandez , it would look like Devitt was on his way to winning the match when he trew Hernandez off the top rope and was about to hit a double leg stomp but Sheik would grab Devitts leg which would cause the distraction with led to Hernandez hitting the Border Toss for win.
After the match Sheik and Hernandez would beat down Devitt until Kiyoshi would run down and make the save.

In the end Mr.Kennedy would get a roll up on Edge for the win after Christians music would hit and he would start to walk down , this would distract edge which would allow Kennedy to get the win. After the match christian hit the ring and speared edge and started to beat him down until Kennedy would once again join forces and attack christian , just as it looked like it was gonna be another 2 on 1 attack , Jeff Hardy would run down to the ring and even up the sides , Jeff would go straight for Kennedy . I’m going to present my final evaluation in a slightly different way to the ones that have been done so far. As usual I’ll write a little piece on how each match, promo or backstage segment will go. But I’m also going to do a little synopsis of the history behind the matches for anyone who can’t be bothered trawling through my TV shows. Finally for each match I’m going to explain the thinking behind my putting these people together as a means of emphasizing the strength of my roster.

NWA FALLOUT PPV LIVE FROM TEXAS MEMORIAL: STADIUM!

Our PPV takes place in the sold out Texas Memorial Stadium as the NWA moves from the Ted Turner Arena for the first time due to unprecedented worldwide demand for tickets. The show has been a 60,000 capacity sellout for many weeks now.

A highlight video airs, with a voiceover detailing the story behind our main event.

“For years they battled in the TV ratings and in the boardrooms of the wrestling world; two faceless billionaires united in their desire to rule the wrestling world. Tonight, history is being made in the NWA as Ted Turner and Vince McMahon’s lifelong struggle comes to a spectacular climax LIVE on PPV! To describe this relationship as a feud is to grossly underestimate the hatred that these men feel for one another. Tonight one man will walk out of Texas the sole owner of the NWA, while the other must leave the company forever. Enemy lines have been drawn. The first blood has been spilled (clips of Steamboat lying in a pool after HH’s attack), Turner has replied in kind (clips of Turner slapping McMahon across the face) and allies have been recruited (clipsof HHH and Steamboat in action)

Tonight the talking stops, the speculation ends and a new era in the NWA will be born. Who will win the Battle of the Bilionaires? They world is watching with baited breath. The FALLOUT from this one is sure to be immense!”

Massive pyro to open show as the rabid crowd roars its approval. PPV buyrates have been spectacular as America has been gripped by the battle between Turner and McMahon. Meanwhile reports of huge interest in japn has been matched by huge PPV numbers from the Orient as Japanese icon tiger Mask aims to capture the NWA Title and New Japan’s IWGP champion Kensuke Sasaki defends the prestigious title for the first time ever on foreign soil. Meanwhile PPV buyrates have shot through the roof in Latin America as the people of Mexico have clamoured to see “the Hulk Hogan of lucha” Konnan wrestle national hero El Hijo del Santo in a Hair vs Mask war which is also a first time ever lucha libre dream match!

    Opening Match:

    NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

    NWAJunior3.jpg

Kota Ibushi Vs Katsuhiko Nakajima Vs Hiroshi Hase

    250px-Kota_Ibushi.jpg VS 200px-Katsuhiko_Nakajima.JPG VS 04.jpg

    Match Background:
With the varied roster of cruiserweight wrestlers in the NWA, it was decided that a Junior Heavyweight Title be introduced. The NWA Board devised a Round Robin style tournament on three successive weeks on NWA TV between Ibushi, Nakajima and Hase to decide the first champion. However with each man winning one match, the tournament ended in a three way tie, lading to this triple threat match on PPV.

    Why I Booked this Match:
Every good PPV should open with a fast paced sprint match to warm the crowd up and get them on their feet. With these three guys at my disposal it was a relative no-brainer to put them in the opener, give them 12-15 minutes to blow the crowd away and watch the sparks fly! The great thing about these particular guys is the contrast between them. They each bring something different to the table: Ibushi, the spectacular high flyer, Nakajima’s no nonsense, hard kicking, fighting style and Hase’s mat-based style providing the perfect base. I realize that many fans (both I terms of the draft and the PPV audience) wouldn’t be familiar with these guys but I think I did a decent job of describing their relative strengths in my TV write ups. Certainly anyone who looked at the you-tube clips I posted of them was blown away. For those who are Puro fans, this is a dream match with two of the most spectacular wrestlers in the world today going up against one of the stars of the 90’s in anever before seen match up. I would be looking at this match to be a showcase in particular for Ibushi to show off his talents and he has the perfect opponents to do so.

    Match Outcome:
The match itself is a 100 mile per hour spotfest from start to finish. Ibushi on fire on this one, hitting spectacular move after spectacular move, literally re-inventing the conventions of pro wrestling. The finish sees numerous kick-outs and triple moves involving all three men and several times the audience genuinely thinks the bout to be over only for the wrestlers to kick out at 2.9! The finish sees Nakajima owerbomb Hase on the guardrail surrounding the ring, closely followed by Ibushi who hits an insane over the top rope cannonball dive that sends Hase crumpled to the floor. This leaves Nakajima and Ibushi alone in the ring. After several more insane nearfalls, it is Ibushi who prevails after hitting a spectacular 630 degree splash.

Winner by Pinfall in 14.35 and first ever NWA junior Heavyweight Champion: Kota Ibushi!

An award ceremony takes place in ring after the match, where Ibushi is presented with the title, putting over the importance and esteem in which the title will be held in the NWA. Nakajima and Hase join the crowd in applauding the new champion.

    Match Number 2

    4iwgp2.jpg

IWGP Heavyweight Title: Kensuke Sasaki (Champion) vs “Bam Bam” Terry Gordy

    kensuke.jpg VS Terry_Gordy.jpg

    Match Background:
Sasaki and Gordy have been at each others throats for weeks. Their issue first arose when Sasaki and Michael Hayes, Gordy’s partner in the Fabulous Freebirds squared off in the #1 Contender’s tournament for the NWA Title. Sasaki was furious at Hayes’ underhand tactics and Gordy’s interference in the match, which are alien to the honour and respect that prevails in wrestling matches in Japan. Issues escalated further in the finals of the tournament as Gordy and Sasaki beat each other to a pulp, even eliminating each other from the running in the final in order to continue their attempts to massacre each other. Matters came to a head however, when the Freebirds manipulated Sasaki into putting his title on the line at Fallout by destroying his protégé Katsuhiko Nakajima.

    Why I Booked this Match:
During the glory years of All Japan Pro Wrestling in the 1990’s, Terry Gordy had the finest career years of his career as one of the top foreign talents in the country and his work there led him to rated as one of the top big men in the history of the sport (Meltzer is a huge Gordy mark for one). Sasaki is one of the most decorated talents in the history of Pro-Wrestling in Japan having held titles in all three major promotions, All Japan, New Japan and NOAH. Gordy and Sasaki are an absolutely perfect match for each other. They’re both hard hitting, stiff, uncompromising, no nonsense workers. For fans of puro, this is a must see match as the top foreign worker of the 90’s comes face to face with one of the major stars of the subsequent decade in Japan.. If this match were to take place in Japan, it would easily be a huge-drawing Main Event. For non-Puro fans, however, both are also recognizable names due to Gordy’s time in the Freebirds and Sasaki’s five year run in WCW where he was US champion. Again I think I have given a good insight into what people can expect from Sasaki in my write-ups for those unfamiliar with him.

    Match Outcome:
As expected the match is a slug fest between two behemoths that have developed and intense mutual hatred. Neither man is prepared to give even an inch in the early going as they stiff each other with hard chops and punches. This match is literally a case if the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. It is not long before Gordy’s chest is bleeding and raw from Sasaki’s offence, while Sasaki’s eye is already closed over from repeated shots to the face. With nothing to choose between both men and with both men at the point of exhaustion after over ten minutes of raw violence, the finish to the match as ever is influenced by the remaining Freebirds. First of all Michael Hayes and Bobby Eaton appear at ringside and distract Sasaki from the match. His protégé Katsuhiko Nakajims attempts to even up the score by attacking them but alas, he is outnumbered and outmuscled. With Sasaki istracted by his concern for his protégé, Gordy is able to land a trio of stiff lariats, his patented running flip powerslam and a barrage of stiff punches to the head and body. However Sasaki’s renowned fighting spirit allow him to kick out of everything gordy throws at him. Eventually, however, such is the ferocity of offence from Gordy that the referee has no option but to stop the match and declare Gordy the winner by knockout!

Winner in 16.27 minutes by knock out and NEW IWGP Champion “Bam Bam” Terry Gordy.

The Freebirds celebrate the win in the ring to a chorus of boos from the disgusted NWA fans and disrespectfully mock the unconscious Sasaki.

Match Number Three: 2/3 Falls Hair vs Mask Match. Konnan Vs El Hijo del Santo

    konnan.jpg VS El_Hijo_Del_Santo_514234a.jpg

    Match Background:
The match stems from the insane jealousy of Konnan, who turned on el Hijo del Santo in a fit of anger in response to his overwhelmimng popularity amongst fans of the NWA. Konnan maintains that he has been treated with disrespect by the NWA, who hired him as a backstage announcer and translator for Santo as well as a wrestler. He is tired of being defined by his former WWE and WCW comedy gimicks. He feels that all his life he has been in the shadow of El Hijo del Santo’s popularity. Konnan believes that by taking the mask of Santo he will cement his place as the biggest Mexican star in pro wrestling and prove once and for all that this is his time to shine. Santo for his part is furious at being victim of several cowardly attacks by Konnan in recent weeks and finally snapped on our last NWA TV broadcast, attacking Konnan with a pair of scissors symbolising his intention to take his hair in accordance to the stipulations of the match.

    Why I Booked this Match:
Right from the outset, in an attempt to have a roster that appealed to all tastes and cultures across the board, I had intended to book a lucha libre match on my card. Choosing El Hijo del Santo was a no brainer, he being the biggest draw and star in Mexico from at least 1985 to about 2002 save for a couple of years in between. However I also wanted the feud to be driven by good promo work and by a face that was recognisable to US fans, as well as being a big star in Mexico. And thats where Konnan, a gifted talker,a guy who has worked for every major company in North America and someone who’s known as the “Hulk Hogan of lucha” comes in. Again, this is a dream that match has never been seen before anywhere in the world. If it was put on in Arena Mexico it would sell out in minutes. It will sell PPVS in Latin America by the thousand and add massive interest from Mexico to my promotion, where wrestling is treated as being as important as current affairs and sport, as well as capturing the imagination of US fans.

    Match Outcome:
The match itself sticks to Mexican traditions as much as possible. A Mexican announcer would be brought in to do the ring announcments with all the pageantry of a genuine Mexican Main Event. Konnan as the rudo or heel wins the first fall, overpowering Santo and wining reasonably easily. Entering the second fall or segunda caida, Konnan would remain on offence, ripping at Santo’s mask and bloodying his forehead off the ringpost, increasing the drama even further. With Santo in serious danger of losing his iconic mask in straight falls he then launches a spectacular comeback, hitting several of his signature suicide dives to the outside. Working the crowd into a frenzy he takes the second fall after a splash from the top rope.

The third fall, or tercera caida is filled with stomach wrenching drama and near-falls. Konnan again begins to dominate, using his size and brawling ability to again weaken the masked superstar. They brawl through the crowd on a number of occasions, their hatred spilling over in a captivating battle. At one stage Konnan actually removes Santo’s mask, surprising him and getting a roll up for a heart stopping near fall. However spurred on by the roars of the NWA faithful, Santo wrestles his mask from Konnan’s grasp and with it the initiative, battling back gamely against all the odds. He takes the win to a huge ovation, forcing Konnan to submit to his legendary camel clutch.

Winner by 2 Falls to 1. El Hijo del Santo in 20.56 mins.

The aftermath to the match sees the ceremonial cutting of Konnan’s hair by El Hijo del Santo, perhaps the greatest expression of dominace over a fellow wrestler in the lucha traidtion. With the jeers and derision of the NWA faithful ringing in his ears, Konnan has no choice but to suffer this greatest of indignities without protest.

Match Number 4: Demolition (Crush and Smash w/ Ax) Vs The International Alliance (Lex Luger and Nikita Koloff)

    demolition.JPG VS lex_luger_195.jpg & Img87.png

    Match Background:
The International Alliance are one of the most hated teams in the NWA. Ever since the former All American fans favourite Lex Luger turned on the NWA fans and aligned himself with the notoriously anti-American Russian, Koloff, they have earned the ire of the NWA faithful. The Alliance are cowards of the highest order and delight in picking on those weaker than themselves whom they can easily overpower and outnumber. It was through such acts that the seeds pf this feud were sown. For weeks they picked on comedy jobber the Repo Man, delighting in beating him up and humiliating in in any way possible. This lead to a change in the Repo Man’s character. He reverted to his old Smash gimmick and slowly began to stand up to the bullies. However, still finding himslef outnumbered, he pulled off a master stroke, recruiting his old friends Crush and Ax top reform the legendary threesome “Demolition”. The tables have now been well and truly turned on Luger and Koloff.

    Why I Booked this Match:
Having picked Koloff and Luger I was wondering how best to utilised them. I considered having a match between them but that prospect didn’t exactly fill me with joy. Then I thought, both guys are great heels, why not pair them in a Superteam that everyone can love to hate? With them in place as cowards and bullies of the highest order, I needed some opponents that people would pay to see kick their asses! And who better to do that than the most dominant WWF tag team of the 80’s and a team I personally am an unashamed mark for!

    Match Outcome:
Demlition lift the roof off the arena by rolling down to the ring on three customised “Demolition” choppers! The match itself is a classic face vs heel battle as the International Alliance do everything in their power to avoid the wrath of the angry ass kicking babyfaces. Despite initially dominating, the heel tactics of the Alliance ensure they soon get the upper hand. However, Demolition, on their NWA debut are not to be denied. The finish to the match sees Ax on the outside, tiring of seeing Koloff attacking his troops behind the referee’s back, drag the evil Russian from the ring apron and piledrive him on the concrete floor. This leaves Lex Luger alone in the ring at the mercy of Smash and Crush. One “Demolition Decapitation” later and the face painted giants have recorded their first win in the NWA! The irony of the International Alliance losing out to the numbers game, when they themselves have employed those same tactics repeatedly in the past,in the past is not lost on the knowledgeable NWA faithful, who mercilessly jeer and berate the losers as they skulk back to the dressing room!

Winners by Pinfall: Demolition in 13.46

Rock N’ Roll Express (Champions) Vs Fabulous Freebirds (Michael “PS” Hayes and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) w/ Terry Gordy

    2455818762_8915d62d5b_o.jpg VS Michael_Hayes_475189a.jpg & Bobby+Eaton-wrestling.jpg

    Match Background:
The Freebirds’ quest for the NWA tag titles has been a feature of the NWA since ints very inception. Their lifelong enemies the Rock N’ Roll Express have had a legendary 18 month reign with the btitles that shows no sign of slowing down. The R N R’s are firm crowd favourites who have earned their reputation as the finest tag team in the world with a combination of their natural charisma and their fast paced, high flying offnecand double team moves. They have constantly repelled everything that the Freebirds have thrown at them and fans have delighted in the constant failure of the Freebirds to pull off the big win.

However the evil genius, Michael hayes pulled off a major coup by inducting Bobby Eaton as the third member of the Freebirds. Not only is eaton atag-team specialist, but the beter part of his cereer has been spent battling the Rock N’ Roll Expresa a a member of the Midnight Express. By signing up a guy with such a detailed knowledge of the Rn’ R’s, Hayes believes he had gotten in to their heads and has tilted the balance of this huge match up in the favour of the Freebirds.

    Why I Booked This Match:
There’s very little to explain about putting two of the most famous and iconic tag teams of all time in a tag title match! This is a feud thatdrew huge money as a headline attraction around the territories. It pits the ultimate antagonistic heel goup, with Michael Hayes stirring things up on the microphone against the ultimate pure babyface team. However, adding another of their traditional enemies, Bobby Eaton into the mix, who would have spent half his career wrwstling them, only spices things up from a storyline and in-ring point of view. I can think of no more worthy pair of teams to contest the Tag Titles of my roster.

    Match Outcome:
This match would take the traditional, tried and tested formula of a Southern Tag. In the early going Eaton and Hayes look like a team that has worked together for years, as they outsmart and outthink the R N R’s at every turn. The cleverness of Hayes’ masterplan in recruiting Eaton is thoroughly vindicated as he stays one step ahead of Morton and Gibson at all times. Like the great champions that they are however, the R N R’s slowly ease their way back into the matchwith flurries of fast paced offence, popping the crowd with their well timed hope spot. Back and forth they battle, two evenly mnatched teams with nothing between them.

Eventually, something out of the ordinary proves the difference maker in the match. With the match approaching the twenty minute mark, Ricky Morton is tossed to the floor by Michael Hayes in an obviously pre-meditated move. There, invigorated by his IWGP title win earlier, the monstrous awaits. He immediately sets upon the Morton, determined to take him out of the match. However, before he can do any damage whatsoever, the referee interjects himself into the ringside affray and sends Gordy to the back, to an enormous roar of approval from the NWA faithful. Their cheers are short lived however as in the ring, the Freebirds, like vultures swoop on Robert Gibson. With the referee’s back turned, Hayes hits him across the head with the Tag title belt. As the referee returns to the ring, Hayes has the easiest task in the world to cover him for the three count and steal the Tag Titles for theFreebirds!

Winners and NEW NWA Tag Team Champions The Fabulous Freebirds by Pinfall in 21.12 Minutes.

For the second time tonight the Freebirds celebrate a title win in the ring as the crowd howls its disapproval at the dubious circumstances surrounding the finish.

Match Number 6: NWA World Title Match:

    nwaworld.jpg

Eddy Guerrero (Champion) Vs Tiger Mask (#1 contender)

    EddieGuerrero4.jpg VS tigermask1.jpg

    Match Background:
Eddy became champion by beating Ricky Steamboat at the last PPV and pledged to be an honourable champion. At first he appeared to be true to his word. Meanwhile Tiger Mask was rapidly making his name in the NWA. The Japanese legend would consistently put on the best match on the card night in night out andswiftly became a firm fan favourite with the NWA faithful. He became the number one contender by suriving an eight man #1 contender’s tournament, in which he defeated several world class opponents.

At the same time, however, Guerrero was undergoing a change in mentality and character. Seemingly under the influence of the evil and charasmatic Konnan, Guerrero turned on Tiger Mask , breaking his promse to the NWA fans in the process. Living up to his catchphrase of “lying, cheating and stealing” he even went so far as to disguise himself under El Hijo del Santo’s mask to fool his Japanese rival and sneakily attack him on NWA TV. As the weeks passed Guerero seemed to become more and more deranged, citing the differences in character between himself and the honourable Tiger Mask as reasons to detroy him at Fallout. Guerrero’s rage was complete by the NWA’s understandable decision to plae the HHH/Steamboat match as the Main Event (given the outstanding circumstances an what is at stake) at the expense of his btitle match. Guerrero felt disrespected and insulted by this and vowed to take his ire out on Tiger Mask at NWA Fallout.

    Why I Booked this Match:
I booked this match because putting these two workers together guarantees an absolutely incredible match. I toyed with the idea of putting several guys in my title match against Guerrero, such as Luger, Gordy and others. However while these guys are established names, none of them would be able to put on a match of the quality that Tiger Mask and Eddy can. At the start of this whole proces I vowed to book matches with workrate as my main criteria for choosing match ups and I’ve stayed true to this by putting the best possible match in my title bout. When you think about Tiger Mask and his greatest matches the name Dynamite Kid springs to mind. I view Guerrero as his equal, if not his better in the ring and with Eddy’s outstanding charisma to carry the feud, you have a match that wil blow people away. I’d pay a LOT of money to see these guys duke it outin their prime and thats all I can ask for from my title match at the end of the day.

    Match Outcome:
The match lives up to and even surpasses all expectations. These two incredible athletes put on a wrestling clinic that has the audience on the edges of thir seats right from the get go. From the speed of the counters to the innovative high spots to the sheer speed at which the match is run this is a true match for the ages! Guerrero works Tiger Mask’s leg over throughout the match, working off the sound premise that taking out his leg wil limit his high flying capabilities. His strategy proves effective as Tiger Mask is noticeably slowed down. However ,he adapts remarkably, using his range of stiff kicks to keep the vicious Guerrero at bay. The closing sequence will live long in the memory as both men put everything on the line, emphasising the importance of the NWA Title. Tiger Mask in particular seems absolutely fearless in his quest for the gold. On one occasion he tosses Guerrero over the guardrail. Then he returns to the ring and despite the obvious pain in his leg, launches himself from the top rop into a somersulat, over the gurardrail to take Guerrero out! A sopontaneous NWA chant breaks our around the buidingas the NWA faithful show their appreciation for this captivating match! The diminutive underdog holds the crowd in the palm of his hand as they sense a historic title change on the horizon. Draggimg Eddie back to the ring, he sets him up for his patented piledriver. However the pain in his leg is unable to support Guerrero’s weight and it buckles underneath him. Guerrero immediatley capitalises, placing Tiger Mask in a vicious half Boston crab. Sayama however refuses to give in despite the agony in his leg. Guerrero continues to attack the leg, kicking and stomping at it and even biting it in his frenzied attempts to hold onto his title. Tiger Mask again heroically tries to regain his feet, but again his leg buckles. Seizing his chance the opportunistic Eddy mounts the top rope and hits the frog splash onto the injured limb of Tiger Mask. He follows up with two more frog splashes, again each time to the injured limb. He covers for three count and takes the win, Tiger Mask too overcome with pain to continue. The crowd rises to acclaim one of the all time great matches. Even in defeat Tiger Mask’s stock has risen as an incredible performer of great heart and skill. He offers Guerrero a handshake after the match, but Guerrero shows his true colours by refusing to entertain the prospect and laughing in his face.

Winner by Pinfall in 28.00 minutes and STILL NWA World Champion Eddy Guerrero.

Throughout the show video packages have been shown hyping our seismic main event of the evening. Former wrestlers and mainstream celebrities are shown being interviewed giving their opinions of the outcome of the match. Opinion is divided right down the middle as to who might actually win, although not one person expressed the desire to see McMahon take over the NWA. The entire NWA roster is gathered around monitors backstage as the future of their company and indeed their livelihood is about to be decided.

MAIN EVENT: “I Quit Match” to Decide the Ownership of the NWA.

HHH (w/ Vince McMahon) Vs Ricky Steamboat (w/ Ted Turner)

    - Match can only end if either billionaire throws in the towel on behalf of their respective fighter

    - Losers must leave the NWA forever

    Triple-H---HHH--C10043417.jpeg WITH vince-mcmahon.jpg

    VS

    Ricky_Steamboat_US_Champion_530h.jpg WITH 2008-04-04_095153-Treehugger-ted-turner.jpg

    Match Background:
The match plays off the lifelong hatred between McMahon and Turner, who were the billionaires that funded the respective sides in the legendary Monday Night Wars on national television. Having lost out eventually to McMahon in a bitter feud in which neither side covered themselves in glory, Turner has since moved onto becoming the financial muscle behind the ever expanding National Wrestling Alliance, which was resurrected in the southern US states. Turner regrets his part in the charade that the Monday Night Wars became and the underhand tactics he employed in nearly getting the better of McMahon in the 1990’s. He views the NWA as his chance to redeem himself and provide a wholesome, family based promotion, based on the old school values of pro-wrestling: basically everything that the increasingly seedy and tacky WWE is not.

However, the feud is re-ignited as McMahon, seeing the rise in popularity of the NWA, tries to invade the promotion with the help of his son-in-law HHH. He is determined that he will crush any opposition to the WWE and regain their stranglehold and monopoly on the world of pro-wrestling. The first shot in the war over the company is fired at the end of the NWA’s inaugural PPV, Breakout. McMahon ruins the biggest night in the history of the company by sending HHH to secretly attack Ricky Steamboat, the top babyface in the company and the man upon who’d hard work the company was built, with a sledgehammer. With Steamboat in hospital, McMahon makes his move and issues an ultimatum to the NWA: sell the company to him, or he will destroy the company just like he took Steamboat out of action. Ted Turner however has other ideas. He responds in the most direct way possible, confronting McMahon face to face for the first time ever on live TV and slapping him across the face in an incident already known as “The Slap Heard Around the World.” It is obvious at this stage that the feud has as much to do with McMahon’s unhealthy obsession with ruining Turner as his desire to own the NWA.

    Why I Booked this Match:
Having chosen Vince McMahon early on in the draft, I racked my brains to find a new and unique feud for him. He has at this stage feuded with most of the top stars in wrestling, as well as Eric Bischoff and Shane, Steph and Linda. It was important to be that my main event would be something fresh that had never been done before. It was when planning for the celebrity round that I thought of Ted Turner. The feud between Vince and turner has been mentioned on TV several times and their have been a few skits, but I thought putting them face to face on television and at opposite sides of a major feud would make for riveting must see TV. Getting HHH was a massive bonus as it gave me a natural wrestler to use in a match, while Steamboat, the greatest pure babyface of all time made the perfect home grown hero for the vision I had for the NWA. I toyed with the idea of a match between Turner and Vince, but while it would gather huge mainstream interest, there was no way I was going to put on a match between two old men in a promotion that prides itself on great wrestling! By having the two billionaires as cornermen similar to the McMahon/Trump Wrestlemania match a few years back I lose none of that mainstream interest but still get to put on a great match between two great workers in their prime. Adding the stipulation that Turner and Vince have to throw the towel in, adds to the psychology of the match and means they will definitely be involved in what will surely be a unique and tension filled finish to the match.

Basically this Main Event has it all; Massive mainstream interest, huge drawing power, four incredibly different and strong personalities, a unique match that has never been done before, a rivalry based on real life animosity, a riveting build up, a storyline in which there is a clear face/heel divide, an outcome that the fans are sure to be emotionally invested in and two workers who are sure to put on an incredible match up from a workrate point of view.

    Match Outcome:
The tension hangs thick in the air prior to this most significant of match ups. Fans and wrestlers alike realize that this could easily be the final match in NWA history.

I accordance with the importance of the match, each of the four protagonists is given his own ring entrance and they are announced similarly to a major boxing match, with a brief synopsis of each of their many career achievements given. As McMahon and HHH are announced, the howls of sheer hatred almost drone out he ring anouncer’s voice. Meanwhile Steamboat and Turner are greeted like heroes.

The match gets off to a surprisingly cagey start. It is obvious that both wrestlers are cogniscant of the incredible skills of the other and realize that one mistake could cost them dearly. However it is not long before their nerves have dissipated and their mutual hatred comes to the fore. NWA officials have agreed that the normally stringent rules of the company be relaxed for this match, given the overwhelming depth of feeling involved.

The fight spills out onto the ringside area, with neither man able to get the upper hand. Steamboat seems to be employing an MMA based style of offence, constantly taking Hunter to the ground and unleashing his pent up fury with stiff punches and elbows to the face. Hunter for his part is constantly looking to lock in a submission, bearing in mind the stipulations of the match. As the match continues, the wrestlers go to more and more extremes to try and force the win. HHH on several occasions employs a steel chair on the back of Steamboat, while Steamboat chokes the WWE Superstar with cables from the TV moniters, however even resorting to tese levels of violence do little to persuade either billionaire to throw in the towel.

Twenty minutes into the match comes the first turning point. Sensing that the fury of Steamboat is proving rather more difficult to quell than first thought, HHH resorts towards a more underhand method of forcing the win. He first takes Steamboat out of the equation by hitting the Pedigree through the ring announcers’ table, leaving him laying ringside. He then makes a beeline for Ted Turner. If he cannot make Turner throw the towel in on Steamboat’s behalf, it seems he believes he can force Turner to throw it in to save himself! He drags Turner to the centre of the ring by the hair, as the frantic official tries to stop him. McMahon hands him his trusty sledgehammer, which HHH is about to use when suddenly the entire NWA locker-room empties. The NWA wrestlers storm the ring, determined that their beloved company not come to such an underhand and inauspicious end. They force HHH to relinquish his hold on Turner and remain at ringside, determined that this match will have a fair and just finish in keeping with the traditions of the NWA. With the crowd encouraged and re-invigorated by this turn of events, Steamboat slowly drags himself to his feet in one last effort to save his beloved company.

His face a crimson mask at this stage, Steamboat struggles into the ring. He is met by a flurry of offence from Hunter, who senses that Steamboat is out on his feet. He locks in a sleeper hold in the centre of the ring, squeezing at Steamboats airway like a rabid animal at its prey. As the flow of blood from Steamboat’s face increases he drags him to the corner, face to face with Turner, screaming at him to throw the towel in. Faced with the sight of the lifeless Steamboat, Turner seems on the verge of ending his friend’s suffering, when a “NWA” chant rises up from the rabid fans around the arena. As if drawing energy and inspiration from their encouragement, Steamboat rallies heroically, manfully struggling out of the sleeper hold. He dropkicks Hunters legs from under him and locks in the figure four leg lock. With no rope breaks to save him, Hunter pounds the mat in sheer agony, as Steamboat determinedly squeezes the hold in tighter and tighter. Hunter reaches for the corner, in an obvious gesture to McMahon to throw the towel in. The deranged McMahon however, has no compassion whatsoever in his manic quest to put Turner out of business and refuses to quit on his behalf, laughing manically as he gestures to the crowd that there’s no way in hell he will quit.

Steamboat is eventually forced to relinquish the hold in frustration as it becomes obvious that McMahon has no intention of giving in. McMahon laughs psychotically on the ring apron as it slowly begins to dawn on Steamboat that perhaps it is impossible to appeal to the conscience of a warped mind such as McMahon’s. The smile on his face however is short lived as Turner in one last desperate act tosses HHH’s sledgehammer to Steamboat. Steamboat brandishes the weapon menacingly as Hunter lies in agony on the mat, unable to regain his feet after the prolonged agony of the Figure Four leg-lock. Looking McMahon directly in the eye, steamboat vents all the pent up frustrations of the past few weeks on Helmsley. He systematically takes HHH apart with the sledgehammer, striking each of his limbs separately, showing no mercy for the man who nearly ended his career forever. McMahon, however still refuses to throw the towel in, determined that he will have his way, as always. Finally, Steamboat strikes HHH between the legs with the hammer. With the agonized screams of his son-in-law ringing in McMahon’s ears, Steamboat again repeats the blow. McMahon for the first time shows a moment of doubt and again and again Steamboat strikes, until McMahon cannot bear to watch any more. With Hunter married to his daughter and without a child as of yet, Vince has no choice but to throw the towel in to prevent Steamboat from depriving his son-in-law the ability to have children and continue the McMahon name forever!

The National Wrestling Alliance has been saved! The crowd erupts into a massive roar of relief and jubilation! Their joy is complete as Ted Turner confronts McMahon in the ring and repeats his slap to the face of a few weeks ago, before ejecting him from what is now officially HIS ring! The entire NWA roster enters the ring and holds Steamboat aloft as the crowd jeers McMahon all the way to the dressing room. The commentators sign off a momentous night in NWA history with the sight of a massive in-ring celebration as Turner and an exhausted Steamboat receive the fully deserved adulation of the crowd!

Winner after Vince mcmahon Throws in the Towel: Ricky Steamboat. Mr McMahon and HH Must leave the NWA Forever. Ted Turner has Been declared the Sole Owner. Match Time: 34.02 Minutes

    Future booking:

With Turner the sole owner of the NWA, and Steamboats popularity greater than ever, I would expect him to resume his rivalry with Eddy Guerrero. Unlike the last time they met, Guerrero is now a fully fledged heel and this would be a long term main event feud with incredible match ups.

Demolition are a team that I would see as being popular enough to become the centerpiece of the tag team division. I would think long term in their booking and have six months of booking culminate in a Demoilition Vs Freebirds feud which could do great business. In the short term, I would have Nakajima join his mentor Kensuke Sasaki as a tag team and try to gain revenge for Terry Gordy stealing his IWGP title by trying to take the Tag belts from Hayes and Eaton. I would eventually have Sasaki gain a modicum of revenge on the Freebirds by winning back his IWGP title. The Rock n roll Express would continually be a thorn in the side of the Freebirds as their career feud shows no sign of slowing down. Once Demolition has taken the tag titles from the Freebirds they would turn heel and feud with the Rock N Roll Express in another never before seen feud.

Going forward I would build Kota Ibushi up as a big attraction in the company. He would embark on a spectacular junior title reign. The list of potential opponents is endless. I could see him having potentially unreal matches with the likes of El Hijo del Santo and Konnan. However the feud that would truly elevate him to superstar status would be against Tiger Mask. I would book this as the cocky young champion Ibushi trying to gain the respect of the legendary Sayama, eventually succeeding after a series of breathtaking bouts.

Further down the line I would slowly break up the friendship between Eddy Guerrero and Konnan. I would have Konnan jealously turn on Guerrero for much the same reason he turned on Santo, feeling overshadowed by his stardom and renown.

I would also have the international Alliance slowly break and turn koloff face. Luger would then feud with Steamboat in a battle of polar opposites.

Strengths of my PPV and Roster:

    Drawing Power:
There would be massive mainstream interest in my Main Event. Both wrestling fans and no wrestling fans would have an interest in seeing this real feud unfold before their eyes. Indeed HHH himself is one of the most solid and consistent draws in the business having been at the top of the game for nearly a decade.

    Workrate:
My roster is filled with incredible workers suck as Tiger Mask, HHH, Guerrero, Ricky Steamboat, Kota Ibushi, Rock N’ Rolll Express, Bobby Eaton, Terry Gordy, El Hijo del Santo and Konnan. The potential for great matches is huge. Every match on my PPV would be at the very least highly enjoyable from a workrate point of view, with several potentially outstanding.

    Well built storylines:
All the feuds on my show are built with simple storylines that are easy to follow and most importantly make sense, both in a kayfavbe and real life sense.

    Never before seen matches:
With the exception of my Tag Title Match, every match on my card is a first time match, giving my PPV a fresh, exciting feel.

    Strong characters and good talkers:
There are several great promo guys on my roster which are vital to produce good televison and matches people will pay to see. Guys like Guerrero, Konnan, Vince and Michael Hayes are some of the greatest talkers of all time.

    Strong Tag Division.
I have long bemoaned the death of tag team wrestling in modern wrestling and was determined that I would have a deep and varied tag division in the NWA. With Demolition, Rock n Roll Express, the Freebirds, International Alliance, Sasaki/Nakajima and the pairing of Eddy and Konnan, it’s fair to say I have more than achieved this aim.

All in all I think I have chosen a balanced and varied roster, which ticks all the boxes. There is something there for literally all types of wrestling fan to enjoy, from the Sports Entertainment build to Turner/Vince, awesome matches such as Guerrero/Tiger Mask for the workrate junkies, my opening match and Sasaki/Gordy for the Puro marks, Konnan/Santo for the lucha fans and Demolition/International Alliance and Freebirds/Rock N’ roll Express for the old school fans.

I’ve really enjoyed putting this thing together and hope you have enjoyed reading it. I’m a little sad its all over to be honest. I’ll miss trawling through wikipedia and other websites looking for info etc! Fairplay and thanks to Mr Nice Guy and Minto for all their hard work. It was a monumental task running this thing and I think it went very smoothly indeed.

    Match One:
Recession Buster Match: Shelton Benjamin vs Chavo Guerrero
Winner receives one year immunity at the cost of the other's job.
    o0ukc9.jpg

Two superstars who have ultimately had disappointing run-ups to the grandest stage of them all contest a battle where both will do whatever it takes in order to stay in the company. Chavo thinks he has it when he scores a roll up with the use of the ropes but the referee catches him in the act. His arguement with the official fundamentally costs him his job as he is nailed with a Paydirt for the 3-count. Shelton leads the crowd in a rendition of Hey Jude, chanting goodbye to a frustrated Chavo. He refuses to leave the arena and is comically ejected by means of security.
    ************************************************
Backstage we see Big John Studd walking through the corridors. We hear 'HEY' from the background. Out steps General Manager Stephanie McMahon. BJS stares, motionless. She tells him that he is disgracing the face of professional wrestling and that he is nothing but a sick mercinary. She goes on to describe how she was in awe over Wrestlemania One where he was defeated in the main event. She says that he's already blown one chance to change the course of wrestling history and the fact that he's willing to throw a second chance away for the sake of a few dollars makes her sick and goes against everything she and her family have stood for in building this business. Stephanie leaves it at saying to BJS that he has a few hours to search his soul.

    Match Two:
WWE Women's Title Fatal Four Way Match: Jacqueline vs Victoria vs Candice Michelle vs Victoria
    2vx52eg.jpg

All four women arrive to the ring in evening attire, adequate for such a large occasion. Before the bell rings, Victoria shouts 'NOW!' and all four tear them off to reveal bra and panty attire, much to the amusement of the sellout crowd. The quartet put on a display of decent technical skills. Victoria thinks that she has it wrapped up with a widows peak to Jacqueline but Candice Michelle is behind her, she times a spinning kick to perfection and scores the victory. She is overwhelmed by her victory and parades her newly won Women's Title around the ring.

MM: Kevin, I have no doubt in my mind that I will be moving upwards to fight for greater things after to.. *Interrupted by DDP*
    DDP: BANG!
MM: Do you mind? I'm trying to give my fans my thoughts.
DDP: The only thought that should be running through your mind is what will help you hold back the tears when you're on the wrong end of a Diamond Cutter baby!
MM: We'll just see about that. *Turning away for a second, he slyly hits DDP with the microphone*
    MM: BANG!!

JR: Well folks as you can see, the rivalrly between those two is heightening all the time but they'll have the presence of the Big Red Machine to worry about as well as each other. But up first we're in for a real slobberknocker. Two powerful tag teams are about to put it all on the line for the gold.

Suddenly the arena goes dark. When it is re-lit, there are tables either side of the ring, garbage bins, road signs and every other weapon under the sun scattered around the arena. With that, Howard Finkel announces that this match has officially been declared under Extreme Rules.

    Match Three:
WWE Tag Team Championship Match (Extreme Rules): The Nasty Boys vs The Public Enemy
    2qiuyqv.jpg

A real crowd pleaser, both teams are near decimated by each other in a match that doesn't leave much to the imagination. At one point, both Rocco Rock and Jerry Sags fall from a ladder through a couple of tables. Eventually an elbow drop from the top rope courtesy of Sags himself helps the champs retain the gold. For good measure, The Nasty Boys invite a truck down to ring and distribute beers around the arena. They're off to party somewhere.

It comes to fruition that Cena's promised Studd a championship shot at the next pay-per-view if he helps Cena rid WWE of Harley Race. Cena states that this is his night and nothing will stop him having this moment in the sun. Again, Studd says nothing and just leaves. DDP and Marc Mero try to work together to keep Kane down but their efforts are futile. Kane is dominant for long stages until Mero spots an opening, Kane gets his leg caught in the rope and the duo go to work on him. With Kane hanging there powerless, DDP and Mero compete for the gold. kane gets a break though, Mero reverses an Irish whip which sends DDP into Kane, they both go over the top rope, freeing Kane. With DDP and Kane on the outside, Mero allows them to slug it out while catching a breath. Kane sends DDP back into the ring where Mero hits a TKO on him. Kane quickly breaks an attempt for a cover and goes to work on Mero. Kane nails the chokeslam perfectly for the victory. The other two come to their senses eventually and square up. Pushing leads to punches and the two have to be separated.

With the main event just minutes away, Kevin Kelly is standing by with Harley Race.
KK: Harley you have a mountain to climb, your thoughts?
HR: A triple threat match is tough but Kevin, a handicap match is tougher. But I wont let that get me down, I'm here tonight because I'm supposed to be, not because I'm being paid to in BJS's case. As for Cena, you can stand behind as many as you like but I'm still coming for you, your title and your so called 'destiny'

Howard Finkel: IT'S TIME FOR OUR MAAAAAAAAIN EVENT.

The key to this match is in this man's hands. Will he stay true to his pockets or will he find some sort of a soul in him?
    j.jpg
And ladies and gentlemen our Champion of almost 10 months. The odds appear to favour him strongly but as we all know, things are never so straightforward in the WWE.

    Match Five: Main Event
Triple Threat WWE Championship Match: John Cena vs Harley Race vs Big John Studd

Harley Race is dominated for a large part of the match as expected but just as it seems Conclusion is heading for a severe anti-climax, John Studd attempts to cover him. Cena stops him and this is where the business relationship ends. Studd powers Cena down with a big boot and goes to work on the Champ. Cena battles back and catches BJS in an STF which he eventually manages to stand up from. With Cena hanging on desperately to his neck, he is broken off him by a missile dropkick, it's Race, back in the game. After a number of attempts, he finally floors Big John Studd, stomping him out of the ring. He preys on Cena and waits to execute the Piledriver. Cena reverses and heads for an F-U. Race manages to grab to rope but both men topple over. Studd lifts Cena and looks to be thinking about putting him through the announcers table when naturally Right To Censor come rushing down. Both are decimated by Studd quickly. Cena has recovered though and manages to F-U Big John Studd on the steel ramp.
Back in the ring Cena and Race slug it out for one last time, counter after counter, Race manages to score a Cradle suplex and then a piledriver for the victory to, against the odds become WWE Champion. Having paraded his title around the ring, he reaches for the microphone and says he never doubted for a minute that he could do it. Studd enters the ring again, after a prolonged silence they shake hands. Studd raises Race's arm in victory as the confetti appears and the show concludes.
    *********************************************************

I hope you all enjoyed Conclusion and the shows that led up to it. I enjoyed my outside role of storywriter immensely =]

With the main event of the year over, naturally it all begins again. Here's how I would see the next while unfolding.

Race would hold the title for a few months, losing it again to Cena who would remain my main heel.
Kane would get his shot at the following ppv but again fall short of what is required to claim the gold.
Studd would be involved in Title matches but I couldn't really see him winning the belt outright.
Mero and DDP would enter into a bitter rivalrly. Ideally, I'd have one of them regain the IC title cheaply over Kane and then have them two fued over it.
The Women's title race would pretty much be static. I could see Victoria winning it back with ease with a straight shot so ideally Candice Michelle would turn heel, alligning herself with RTC for protection of the belt.
RTC as we know it would disband, The Godfather would return to his originally gimmick and seek a tag team partner perhaps. Bull Buchanan would look to the likes of LT Taylor for recruitments.
Shelton Benjamin would use his immunity as a gimmick to try get away with funny stuff, I'd turn him face and have him a practical joker. Still a high mid-carder, I don't think he'd get near the WWE Title although a shot at the IC Title would be a real possibility.
Corporal Cajun would simply a jobber that would fade away, I could see Chavo returning with an advisory role to Stephanie McMahon or even as an announcor.

Anyway that's my final write up complete so until next year I hope you've enjoyed it, I certainly have, win lose or draw :)
As usual any feedback is much appreciated.

    It's finally here!!

    wrestlecade3.jpg

The night starts off with the 4 Way elimination between The Great Muta v 2 Cold Scorpio v The Great Sasuke v A wrestler that will be revealed tonight to find who will become the number one contender for the newly created US-TV Championship, which will be decided later tonight.

    4way.jpg

As Muta, Scorpio and Sasuke wait in the ring it's revealed the final participant will be Kofi Kingston, who gets a great pop from the crowd.

A fast paced opener with 4 determined wrestlers, the first pinfall comes around ten minutes in as The Great Sasuke pins 2 Cold Scorpio after a senton. The Great Sasuke quickly gets eliminated almost immediately after when Kofi quickly rolls him up from behind and gets the 3 count. Muta and Kofi then battle back and forward until Kofi tries to hit Trouble In Paradise, but Muta avoids it by spitting his green mist in Kofi's face, causing him to fall to his knees where Muta hits a Shining Wizard and gets the win.

    Winner @ 17:23 - The Great Muta

Our next match has the return of a legend, a man many thought would never walk again nevermind wrestle, Hayabusa and a very angry Shane Douglas, who feels Hayabusa cost him the chance to win the US-TV Title, in a hardcore bout.

    shanebusa.jpg

A brutal battle. It looked like it was going to be one sided, with Douglas dominating and refusing to go for the pin. Eventually, Hayabusa gets back into the swing of things and in the ends pulls out the victory after an amazing moonsault from the top of a ladder.

    Winner @ 19:58 - Hayabusa

Next up the World Tag Team Titles are on the line as Kevin and David Von Erich face the team of Buff Bagwell and Mike Rotunda.

    tagtitle.jpg

New champions are crowned after Bagwell cheats using brass knuckles on Kevin while the ref was distracted to pick up the win.

    Winner @ 14:08 - Buff Bagwell & Mike Rotunda

And now, we will crown the first JWA US-TV Champion as the tournament finalists Jushin Liger and Ultimo Dragon square off.

    jushinultimo.jpg

An epic end to the tournament, the pair put on their finest match to date which the crowd are loving. A champion is crowned when Liger picks up the victory after a Shooting Star Press. Afterwords they both stand in the ring holding each others arms in the air as the receive a standing ovation from the audience.

    Winner @ 34:53 - Jushin Liger

Next up is a grudge match as The Undertaker w/Barack Obama takes on Ted DiBiase w/Virgil

    takerted.jpg

A great battle with plenty of near falls, the match ends when a brawl breaks out between Obama and Virgil, with Obama getting the better of things much to the delight of the crowd. The brawl distracts DiBiase, who looked to be in control long enough for Taker to hit a Tombstone Piledriver on him for the win.

    Winner @ 27:08 - The Undertaker

We end tonight with our main event, a cage match for the JWA World Heavyweight Championship between Nick Bockwinkel, the current title holder, and challenger The Masked Matador.

    nicktito.jpg

As the match starts the match starts The Masked Matador starts to remove his matador garments, and finally his mask to reveal his is indeed Tito Santana ( shock!). A furious Nick Bockwinkel demands the match to be stopped but it's too late for that. The two then go on to put on a wrestling clinic. Tito finally becomes world champion much to the delight of the crowd when Nick submits to the Figure 4. Both men are bloodied up by the classic match and the crowd are delighted Tito has finally won his title.

    Winner @ 44:37 - Tito Santana

Well, that's my PPV finished. It's not in great detail but hopefully I've laid down enough seeds to allow some very pretty plants to grow in each of your head, to use a god awful metaphor. In other words, I feel your imagination will do more justice to the card than my words could.

I feel I have a decent roster, but being honest looking back on it there are quite a few weaknesses. There is a lack of depth in the tag division however, where teams will most likely just be random guys thrown together. Not ideal. Another area I feel flat, and that's my own fault is the writing. The main event angle was foolish. I gave no reason good reason why Taker got involved in the DiBiase/Obama feud... I could go on. I didn't put enough thought and effort into storylines and the reasons behind the matches, especially compared to the rest of you and it showed. One area there should be no trouble is quality of matches at least, where pretty much any pairing will give a great match. I also have some amazing heels, and I think the faces are good enough to live up to a feud with them too. There's a good Main Event and Mid card in play, with guys currently in the mid card well able to step up to main event in the future in my opinion.

Overall it was a fun experience, learned so much from it and thanks to Mr. Nice Guy and Minto for running it. Hope some of you enjoyed my roster as much as I've enjoyed the rest of yours.

I thought I might have been able to get one or more two TV shows up plus the PPV in detail, but, alas, it wasn’t to be. Here’s a quick review of the next 2 weeks of TV (the angles are in no particular order)...

    Funk/Tyson/Shamrock angle –

Tyson comes out the following week and speaks. He respects fighters. He’s always been a fan of Shamrock as he’s a fighter. He’s fought his way from the bottom to be the ‘World’s Most Dangerous Man’. Just as Tyson fought from the bottom to become the ‘Baddest Man On the Planet’. So they became friends. Funk is a coward. He’s not what a real fighter is about – honour, dignity and dedication. He takes them out before they can go face to face. That’s not a fighter.

Funk takes exception, comes out, and challenges Tyson to a Cage Fight at Reckoning. Tyson accepts.

Funk takes Tyson out later that night back stage with a steel chain. Then puts him in a spinning toe hold for several minutes.

The following week Shamrock makes a surprise appearance. He addresses the crowd, thanking them for the support, and thanking Tyson for his. Funk comes out, going nose-to-nose. Suspense is as high as ever. Tyson comes out, walking with a purpose. He steps in the ring, nose-to-nose with Funk. Shamrock, knowingly, backs into a corner, while Tyson and Funk stay nose-to-nose. Funk fakes a punch, Tyson doesn’t flinch; just stares. Funk makes out he’s walking away, fakes another punch, Tyson just walks towards him. Funk, unsure of himself, backs away. As he walks up the ramp he can be seen mouthing ‘Sunday’ over and over.

    Arn/Sting Angle –

Most of the build up centres around the fact that although they’ve crossed paths for various reasons, they’ve never had a chance to see who the better man is.

Arn speaks about taking him out of matches on numerous occasions on behalf of others, but never having the chance to take him out face-to-face, which he’s more than happy to do in 2 weeks time for the title.

Sting says they’ve never fought face-to-face because Arn’s always been somebody’s lacky. He does the other men’s dirty work for them, and he’s never been good enough to make it to the very top. How many World Titles has he won? None.

Tully faces Sting, with Sting prevailing. Arn threatens to get in the ring while he has the Scorpion Death Lock on Tully, but Sting’s looking him right in the eye, begging him, so Arn backs off, much to the amusement of Sting.

Next week in Tully and Sting have another match. This time Funk interferes, more payback to Sting for losing the title, taking Sting out. Arn this time saunters down to the ring, pipe in hand. It’s obvious he’s gesturing that he’s nobody’s lacky. He looks Sting dead in the eye. Sting is basically incapacitated, so he doesn’t use the pipe. Instead he takes out the left arm of sting for about five minutes, using a variety of holds and clubbing blows. Tully gets the cover when Hebner decides he’s paying attention again. Arn continues to pummel Sting after the bell. Officials have to eventually intervene. Arn stands, title in hand, with a very serious look on his face. Arn has shown he is the one calling the shots with Funk, Tully and Hebner all doing some of his dirty work doing into Sunday.

    Heyman/Yoko Angle:

Heyman puts Yoko over big for the next two weeks with his usual sh*te. More squash matches ensue; including, jokingly, John Walters and Xavier who have already been in matches the night they compete.

In the show 2 weeks before Reckoning Mr Slick announces Yoko will have a surprise opponent at the PPV.

Heyman continues to spout on behalf of Yoko about his dominance etc; and that nobody can match him. Whoever it is Sunday, is in for a beating.

    Rougeaus/Dudleys/Briscoes Angle:

Since the Rougeaus keep getting out of these matches unfairly and unscathed, a triangle TLC match is made for Reckoning, much to the Rougeaus chagrin. 2 weeks before the PPV, the Rougeaus get caught in the ring by both the Briscoes and Dudleys, who make an example out of the duo using chairs and tables respectively.

The week before, all members of both teams are in singles action. In the final match of the trio, Mark Briscoe is against Buh-Buh Ray Dudley. The Rougeaus sneak up the aisle with chairs, taking out Jay and D’Von who are at ringside. They then proceed to take out Mark and Buh Buh. First Jacques takes out Mark with a leg drop off the ladder. Then they take Buh Buh out with a 3D through the table. They stand triumphant as the crowd give them incredible heat.

    Xavier/Aries/Walters:

Aries takes his younger, more inexperienced opponents to school 2 weeks before the PPV. After he attacks Walters, as Walters is in mid-promo, he demands a match take place that very moment. He beats him with the Brainbuster. He demands a triple threat match at Reckoning.

He then attacks Xavier in the back, Earl Hebner in tow. He smashes him through the wall, has Hebner make the count and hands him over some money.

A week before Reckoning Aries is cutting a promo about how the two weeks before last week were just freak occurances. He is the ‘A-Star’. The other two come out, stand at the top of the ramp, officially accept the challenge for Reckoning, make their way to the ring. Aries looks as if he’s about to fight, then runs, pointing at his head saying he’s smarter than that. He’ll see them Sunday.

    Tully/Windham:

After Tully’s attack, Windham is out for blood. He’s searching every room in the building with no luck. Constant cuts are made on TV during the night of Tully relaxing somewhere without a care in the world. Windham is beside himself with frustration. Tully cuts a promo towards the end of the night telling Windham he fights on his own terms and nobody elses. If he can’t find Tully, it’s because Tully doesn’t want him to find him. Windham can be seem fuming, beating the hell out of Jimmy Rave in a match he demanded, so he could take out his frustrations, hitting him with two Lariat clotheslines in the process.

The week before Reckoning Tully can be seen arriving in a limo as Windham is cutting a promo in the ring. Windham runs to the back, to the limo, but Tully is nowhere to be seen. He bangs the limo in frustration, but he knows Tully is here.

Tully makes his way straight to the ring. He cuts a promo in the ring, similar to last week, about how he will fight on his own terms. He’s too smart to do anything else. Windham then comes out with a purpose. Arn attacks him from behind. Rolling him into the ring and walking back up the ramp. Tully has his way with Windham, winding up the crowd while he’s at it. He’s goes to take Windham out with the title, misses, Windham then goes to clothesline Tully, misses, and Tully escapes and runs through the crowd. Windham goes in pursuit. Tully gets in his limo and gets away, much to Windham’s annoyance again.

I’ll try to get my PPV up in detail...but i’ll get it up in some fashion at the very least.

Once again, feedback is most welcome.

    SWL: RECKONING

    Live from El Paso, Texas.

So many questions to be answered...

    First up:

    Aries v Xavier v Walters:

All competitors get to showcase their high flying abilities. Aries uses his experience and mean streak to ground his opponents for a while during the match. His cocky demeanour comes through loud and clear. He hits both with the Brainbuster. But, he then takes too long to put them away. Walters gets to his feet, pushing Aries off the top rope, onto the floor on the outside; leaving Aries out of commission for a while.

Walters and Xavier then go at it to the delight of the crowd, as they showcase the full array of their talents. At one point both guys are laid out, and Aries can be seen stirring on the outside. Walters gets up, and goes for a knockout blow, misses, and Xavier hits his. He goes up top, but Aries pushes him to the outside. Aries cradles Walters, with a handful of tights for the win.

Aries wins by pinfall on Walters in 12.02.

Heyman can be seen backstage telling someone, we assume Yoko, that ‘we’re’ up next.

Yoko, accompanied by Heyman, makes his way to the ring.
Heyman talks again, as he has done for the previous 3 weeks, about how Yoko is unbeatable and it doesn’t matter who Slick gets, because whoever it is will be dominated as they have never ever been dominated. As Heyman continues to waffle away, the crowd rises and pops huge, as whose behind him in the ring all of a sudden, but Ken Shamrock in jeans with a Kendo stick!

He starts going nuts on Yoko with the weapon; hitting him several times. The injury to Shamrock is still quite apparent, but that won’t stop him in this blindside attack. He wails into Yoko with he stick for a couple of minutes with a variety of head shots and ankle shots. He even saves a shot for Heyman! The bell is ringing ferociously as the crowd continue to lap it up. Shamrock ends with the Ankle Lock, as the crowd pops again.

No contest, after Shamrock attacks Yoko before the bell sounds.

Backstage, Funk is seen psyching himself up for the match against Tyson. He punches a mirror as he does so, as the crowd gasps at the intensity.

Tully Blanchard v Barry Windham for the World Television Title.

Windham makes his way to the ring; business face on. He’s chomping at the bit waiting to go at it with Tully. A clip comes on the Tron of Tully lounging back in his room, sipping wine, without a care in the world. He talks to Windham about the fact that he just doesn’t get it; he’s smarter, better looking, and more talented than Windham ever hopes to be. He ends the promo, telling Windham it’s on Tully’s terms that this match is happening.

The camera cuts to the ring where Tully is behind Windham, much to the surprise and despair of the crowd. Windham turns and gets hit in the face with the title. The bell then rings and the match is on.

The match is a wrestling clinic; Windham with the more physical offence. Tully takes his time at all times, not letting Windham ever get too much momentum. The crowd is booing like mad, as he continues to sneak out of Windham’s grasp as Windham tries to get a head of steam going.

The end comes when Windham capitalises on Tully’s over-confidence. Tully had low-blowed Windham behind the ref’s back, and started milking the crowd. As he walks over to Windham, Windham gets him in a sudden small package for the win. Tully is beside himself and makes his way to the back in a strop.

Winner, and new World Television Champion, Barry Windham, by pinfall, in 18.56.

Backstage, the Dudleys come into the Briscoes’ dressing room.
The Dudleys talk about the respect they have for what the Briscoes bring to the tag-team division. Not many teams can do what they do. The Briscoes tell the Dudleys that the Dudleys are the measuring stick by which everyone measures themselves. But, the Briscoes are almost there. They warn the Dudleys that, yes, they may have been in more TLC matches than anyone in this company, but they have never been up against anyone as dynamic, and most importantly, as violent as the Briscoes. They stare each other down and The Dudleys leave.

The commentators comment on the fact neither team mentioned The Rougeaus.

Rougeaus v Dudleys v Briscoes in a TLC match for the Tag Team Titles:

As you can imagine, this is a tremendously brutal match. The Rougeaus seem to want to do anything but get heavily involved. The Briscoes and Dudleys seem very pre-occupied with each other, and wanting to up each other, forgetting that the Tag Champs are in the match. The Rougeaus make a couple of attempts at the belts. Each time their foiled, but the Dudleys and Briscoes get back to fighting each other.

Frustrated, Jacques and Raymond each get a chair, and go hell for leather on both other teams, cracking each of the 4 participants in the head with the chairs, thus stamping their authority on the match. They try to get up a ladder to the titles, but take too long. Many spots take place, including a double drop kick by the Briscoes on the Rougeaus off the ladder, Jay Briscoe hits a Death Valley Driver on D’Von off the top rope, Raymond Rougeau hits a splash off the ladder on Mark Broscoe through an announce table and Buh Buh hits a Buh Buh Bomb on Jay onto a prone ladder.

The finish comes when...Jay and Mark hits simultaneous enziguiris though chairs onto the skulls of the Rougeaus, knocking them out the ring. Buh Buh does his helicopter with the ladder, taking out Mark. Then they focus on Jay. Two ladders were stacked ringside earlier in the match and Buh Buh goes into his trance. Jay gets the upper hand on D’Von and climbs a ladder in the corner of the ring. D’Von recovers, which Buh Buh notices. He goes to the outside beside the tables. The crowd starts murmuring loudly. D’Von hits Jay with a low-blow, hoists him in the air suddenly, Buh Buh catches Jay in the 3D. Jay is definitely out, and D’Von is worse for wear. Buh sets up a ladder in the ring and climbs. He claims the title triumphantly as bodies are strewn everywhere.

Winner, and New World Tag Champions, The Dudleys in 32.22.

Backstage Tyson is interviewed. He says he’s going to show the world, and Terry Funk, why he is still ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. Their Cage Fight is up next.

Funk v Tyson; Grudge Match in a Cage. Only win by Pinfall or Submission.

This is an out and out brawl, with Funk looking mildly surprised at how well Tyson is holding his own. He tries taking him down with some wrestling moves, but he can’t stay on top. Tyson sticks with his boxing roots and makes a fool out of Funk for a while, much to Funk’s obvious frustration. Funk manages to poke Tyson in the eye, and takes advantage, by grounding Tyson and pounding on him. He works on the foot of Tyson, which Tyson sells particularly well. Funk can be heard shouting ‘you’re not gonna walk!’, and Tyson is in trouble. Tyson fights out of a couple of attempts impressively.

Shamrock then makes his way to the ring, much to the delight of the crowd. The action continues in the ring though as Shamrock takes a seat beside the timekeeper. He loudly cheers Tyson on. Funk starts getting frustrated. He climbs the cage. Shamrock gets up as Funk is about to come over. Funk changes his mind and gets back in the ring. He turns, and Tyson decks Funk with a punch. Tyson falls down due to his injured foot. He crawls to the cover slowly. The ref counts 2 and three quarters and Funk kicks out. The crowd erupts in shock. Tyson is confused. Tyson waits for Funk to get up. Funk dodges another punch, and he hits Tyson with a piledriver. Tyson kicks out! Funk’s turn to be confused. Tyson struggles to his feet, ducks an attempt at a punch by Funk and decks him again. Instead of going for the cover, he snaps in the ankle lock, which Shamrock applauds. After 3 minutes, Funk passes out and can’t answer the ref’s call. Tyson wins. Shamrock gets in the ring, hoists Tyson’s arm in the air, and they pose for the crowd.

Winner, Mike Tyson, after Funk passes out, at 25.05.

Arn is seen stretching, confident. The camera cuts to a separate room where Sting is, doing pretty much the same thing. Their match is next.

It cuts back to Arn who can be seen telling Tully he wants no help tonight. He’s got something to prove to everyone who ever thought he was merely a lacky, a man who was just good at doing other people’s dirty work.

Sting v Arn Anderson for the SWL World Heavyweight Championship.

This is a match that, as far as the announcers can remember, is a first between these two. If it’s not then, it’s certainly the first time on this magnitude of a stage.

Arn grounds Sting early, and as expected, works on the injured arm of Sting. Sting rallies a couple of times, but, Arn always comes back to the arm. He looks extremely focused on the job at hand. Sting is looking a bit helpless. Arn gets on the mic, gets into the ring, and tells Sting whose the b*tch now, still visibly upset by the lacky comments. He throws the mic away, and starts pummelling Sting again. He gets him in an armbar and is really synching it on. Sting reaches the ropes.

Arn is getting frustrated. He lets it get the better of him. He launches Sting into the ropes which allows Sting to high fly and take him down. The crowd can see Sting desperation and get behind him. He launches Arn, one-armed, into the corner and hits two Stinger splashes. He tries to get the win quickly while he’s on top. Arn tugs Sting’s tights and launches him out the ring. He throws him into the ring steps. He needs time to recover from that surge from Sting. He throws him back in the ring. He goes for the Spinebuster but it’s reversed into a DDT. The two go back and forth for a while, trading signature manoeuvres and close 3-counts.

The end comes when Sting can’t turns Arn in the Scorpion Deathlock due to his injured arm. Arn kicks him off, arm first, into a turnbuckle which Arn had exposed earlier. Arn hits the spinebuster, Sting kicks out somehow. Sting reverses an Irish Whip into the exposed corner, Arn avoids the splash and Sting goes head first into the ringpost. Arn rolls him up with a handful of tights and is the new Champion. Tully comes down to celebrate with him as the crowd stand in shock.

Winner, and New SWL Heavyweight Champion, Arn Anderson by pinfall in 28.43.

Thank you so much to MNG and MInto for all your work.

I’m delighted to get this PPV up. I hope you all enjoy it, and that you enjoyed the TV shows preceding it, even though it was all quite rushed this week through my own fault.

I look forward to doing this again next year.

Segment 1: After the cameras stopped rolling
Denny Crane in the ring announces that he is going to address the attack on William Regal at the weekend and the disappearance of Kelly Kelly. But first he has some more important news. The New England Patriot’s cheerleaders are backstage and he has talked all of them into having a ‘mud pit battle royale’ for later tonight.
Jericho interrupts and calls the fans sick and twisted. They care more about half naked bimbos than Kelly Kelly’s safety (irony intended). Jericho demands Savage show his face and return Kelly Kelly, but Crane says Savage isn’t here; his appearance two weeks ago was a onetime only deal. Jericho then says that if Savage doesn’t gove back Kelly, he won’t defend his title at the SuperBrawl. Crane promises to look into the matter and make a decision by the end of the night.
Match 1: Maryse Vs. Katie Lea Burchill
Sera Del Rey is ringside doing commentary for this match. There is some good back and forth action in this match. Del Rey puts over Maryse as being a danger to her Women’s championship. The match ends when Maryse hits the French Kiss on Katie Lea for the pin. Maryse then puts her in the camel clutch as she shouts at Sera in French.

    Segment 2: Quote the Maven?
We see Denny and a mystery person in talks in his office. Denny tells the mystery person to make an impact tonight; if he does, he will be put in a number one contenders match at the PPV.

    Segment 3: Ohhhh Canada........
The camera pans to the ring decked out in Canadian banners with Lance Storm and the Canadian Championship in the ring. Lance sings to entire Canadian national anthem to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Once he is finshed, he calls out any American, exect MVP to confront him in the ring. The newly repackaged Mike Knox comes out to the ring in his MMA gear. He is about to pick up the mic and start talking when Storm superkicks him to the outside. MVP runs down the ramp and attacks Storm. Storm leaves and MVP is left in the ring to taunt him. Ballin’! Denny appears on the tron and announces a tag team match between them tonight.

Match 2: APA Vs. Chris Hero and Paul Burchill
APA completely dominate Hero and Burchill. They are just toying with them in the ring. Bradshaw eventually goes for the Clothesline from Hell on Hero for the pin. After the match, he and Farooq cut a promo. Farooq says that The Rockstars may be right, he and Bradshaw may be too old to beat them. But he thinks they can still kick ass and take names with the best of them. Bradshaw takes offense to this. He grabs the mic and stares at Farooq in disbelief. He then begins to rant, “Too old? TOO OLD??? I’ll show them too old. God dammit, I’ll be taking names and kicking ass til the day I die” Bradshaw continues to rant and rave as Farooq crosses his arms and smiles knowing he’s lit a fire under Bradshaw’s ass. Farooq then asks that Denny Crane make their Tag Team championship match a No Holds Barred match.

Match 3: Chris Jericho Vs. Mike Awesome
This match starts off with Awesome in control. Jericho gains the upper hand when Awesome goes for a superplex but Jericho manages to reverse it and the two trade offense back and forth until Awesome manages to land a sick looking neckbreaker. He then goes for the Awesome Bomb only to have Maven run in and destroy him with a steel chair. Maven then grabs a mic and says “How about that for impact, Denny?”

Segment 4: Breaking down the walls?
Chris Jericho is shown backstage being helped to the medical area after his match with Awesome. A strange man enters dressed as a doctor. He pretends to examine Jericho’s neck, until Jericho recognises him and Savage grabs Jericho and throws him through a plasterboard wall into the changing room for the Patriot’s cheerleaders and runs off before security can do anything about it. The colour commentator makes a comment about how Jericho belongs in the same room as all the divas. The mud pit battle royale is next.

Segment 4: Mud wrestling is real to me DAMMIT!
Denny has a special chair beside the mud pit. He introduces the cheerleaders to the crowd and informs them that last one in the mud pit is the winner. The winner will receive a night on the town with him after the show. Denny provides the commentary for this ‘match’ from his ‘pitside’ chair. About 5 minutes into the match, he decides he can’t take anymore of this and removes his watch, jacket and tie and jumps into the mudpit and starts ‘wrestling’ the cheerleaders.

Match 4: MVP and Mike Knox Vs. Lance Storm and ???
The Great Khali is Storm’s partner. Good solid TV main event match. The finish comes when Storm is wrestling with MVP on the outside and Khali locks in the Khali Vise Grip on Knox. The ref calls for the bell on a TKO. Knox is left lying in the middle of the ring as MVP and Storm brawl through the crowd and Khali leaves. Knox is also bleeding from the mouth, the commentators make reverence to possible internal injuries.

    Segment 5: A Savage idea!
Randy Savage’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Savage apologises to Kelly Kelly’s family for the hurt he has caused them and says he has released Kelly. He also apologises to Regal, but Savage has a reason for the attack. When he was lying in hospital after the beating at the hands of Jericho, he started to recollect big matches of his career. He recalled the glory of headlining past WrestleManias. Now the NWL is the place to be and the SuperBrawl is the pinnacle of a person’s career. He feels his time is now to capture the glory of headlining a major PPV and the NWL championship. But to do this, he had to grab Jericho’s attention and eliminate the number one contender. He also had to kick Jericho’s ass to get him back for the beating he gave him three weeks ago. “So Jericho, do I have your attention now?” Denny Crane appears on the screen in his bathrobe with the cheerleaders (also in bathrobes) surrounding him. He tells Savage that he has backed him into a corner. The NWL owners are worried that no NWL Championship match has been announced yet. So in the interest of pleasing the crowd and the owners, he is making the match; Chris Jericho versus Randy Savage for the NWL World Championship. Savage is shown smiling as the show goes off the air.

    Elix Skipper vs. Simon Diamond

As seen in the video package, this match was made at the press conference when Elix Skipper challenged his now former manager, Simon Diamond, to a match. Result: Elix Skipper is first to the ring, then followed by Diamond. Diamond immediately gets on the mic and says that this match doesn’t have to take place, he says he was only trying to help Skipper last week. Skipper looking angry then takes a shot at Diamond, which knocks him to the ground. The bell rings. Skipper continues to beat down on a helpless Diamond, before then backing off from a cowering Diamond. Diamond then quickly jumps to his feet to attack Skipper who has his back turned to him. Skipper quickly turns and hits Diamond with a spinning wheel kick. Skipper then goes up to the corner and performs a double jump moonsault and covers for the pin…1-2-3. Elix Skipper wins. He has his hand raised by the ref while still looking in disgust at Diamond who is laid out in the ring before leaving.

WPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATION MATCH:
KEVIN STEEN & EL GENERICO vs. ELIJAH BURKE & MONTY BROWN vs. TAKA MICHINOKU & SHO FUNAKI

    HISTORY

WPW was launched just over one year ago to give wrestling fans an alternative to WWE and TNA. At the inaugural Respect Is Earned pay-per-view Nigel McGuinness defeated Mitsuharu Misawa to become the 1st ever WPW Heavyweight Champion. McGuinness held the title for 4 months until crowd favourite Misawa finally defeated him for the gold. Misawa has since seen off the challenges of Umaga, Rikishi and McGuinness and will defend his title against the red hot Goldberg at Respect Is Earned II.

Goldberg defeated Rick Rude at Respect Is Earned I but after the victory he was viciously attacked by Rude and his bodyguard Sid Vicious, leaving Goldberg out of action for 6 months. When he eventually returned, Goldberg defeated Sid Vicious and Rude in singles matches at consecutive pay-per-views, and at the most recent ppv he again defeated Rude to become the #1 contender to Misawas title. Can Goldberg complete his comeback by grabbing the WPW title?

Following his defeat to Goldberg in the #1 contender match, “Ravishing” Rick Rude blamed his bodyguard Sid Vicious for the loss. Rude berated Sid in many interviews until Sid eventually reached his breaking point and powerbombed Rude to a massive pop from the crowd. At Respect Is Earned II Sid Vicious will have the chance to face his former boss one on one.

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper had been absent from WPW for 3 months as he was filming Rocky VII. When he returned as a crowd favourite, Piper introduced Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was a boxing consultant for Rocky VII. Mayweather turned on Piper and the wrestling business, claiming that any slob could be a wrestler, while to be a pro boxer took a real athlete like him. Mayweather attacked Piper with a steel chair and would later accept Pipers challenge for a No Holds Barred wrestling match at Respect Is Earned II. Can Piper defend the honour of WPW at Respect Is Earned or will Mayweather prove his point and defeat “The Rowdy One?”

Following his title loss to Mitsuharu Misawa, Nigel McGuinness became embroiled in a heated and often bloody feud with Kerry von Erich. These 2 have clashed 4 times in recent times in classic matches, both grabbing 2 wins. At Respect Is Earned II they will meet for the final time in a Steel Cage match, who will have the final say in this brutal dispute?

Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty were a popular team with WPW fans, but following his loss to Mitsuharu Misawa in a WPW Heavyweight Championship match Rikishi became convinced that it was time to ditch his fun side and get serious. Rikishi would find that his Samoan colleague Umaga was also hurting following his defeat to Misawa, and the 2 would form an alliance and attack Scotty 2 Hotty. Scotty would return a few weeks later with his former tag team partner Grandmaster Sexay and reform their Too Cool tandem. The duo have challenged the Samoan monsters to a match at Respect Is Earned II, can the smaller Too Cool defeat their huge and powerful opponents, or will Umaga and Rikishi make a statement of intent as they look for success in WPW?

WPW has recently signed a number of tag teams and at Respect Is Earned II the 1st ever WPW Tag Team Champions will be crowned when Kevin Steen & El Generico face Elijah Burke & Monty Brown and Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki in a three way elimination match.

    RESULTS
    1. Goldberg defeats Mitsuharu Misawa to become the new WPW Heavyweight Champion.
    2. Kerry von Erich defeats Nigel McGuinness in a classic Steel Cage match. Von Erich is now catapulted to superstardom and must surely be inline for a title shot.
    3. "Ravishing" Rick Rude defeats his former bodyguard Sid Vicious following a steel chair shot behind the referees back.
    4. Umaga & Rikishi defeat Too Cool despite a spirited effort from the crowd favourites.
    5. Kevin Steen & El Generico become the 1st ever WPW Tag Team Champions, lastly eliminating Elijah Burke & Monty Brown in their 3-way dance.
    6. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper defeats Floyd Mayweather Jr. to defend the honour of WPW.

Video Montage Of The Lead Up To Edge Vs Christian

    Backstage Segment
    Christian is shown being interviewed.
Hey Edge you did the worst thing you could have ever done , I would have let you off when you tried to attack me the first time but when you took that chair to my head you crossed a line . Out of every person on the roster you no me the best......but i also no you the best so if you try and do a move i will be right there ahead of you , so if i was you i wouldnt try anything stupid. If You Don't Know.............. Now You Know

    Grudge Match
    Edge w/Pamela Vs Christian
This match is intense from the get go , 2 former best friends and multiple tag team champions over the years. Once the bell rings Edge tries to get away from Christian until Edge takes advantage of christian getting in the ring moments after which allowed him to hit a elbow drop. Edge gets most of the momentum for the first half of the match and starts to get cocky which does not go down well with the crowd who start to boo him . Just as Edge sets up to run for a spear on Christian he ducks out of the way sending Edge into the turnbuckle and follow up with a ddt. As both men try and get to their feet before the 10 count Christian gets in control and delivers alot of powerful moves . When it looked like Christian was gonna go for the Unprettier Pamela would get up and distract christian , as this was happening Edge would hit a spear on Christian , but unfortunately Christian would get his foot on the rope before the 3 count. Later on Pamela would get up on the apron but before she did she trew in a chair. Christian would argue with her but she would fall off herself making it look like Christian pushed her. As Christian would turn around Edge would try and hit him with a chair but he ducked (as the ref checked on Pamela who was complaining of a knee injury) and Christian got hold off the chair and hit Edge and went for the cover but the ref was checking on Pamela , Edge would fall out of the ring but christian would try grab him over the ropes but Edge would have a second chair in his hands and hit christian with it. Edge then got the second chair and put it under christians head and would use the other chair to hit a conchairto(dont know how to spell it :) ) , Pamela would get back to her feet and demand the ref gets in the ring which he did and counted the 3 count

    Winner
    Edge

This would not go down well with the crowd but Edge left happy .

Video Montage Of The Lead Up Of The Main Event

    World Heavyweight Championship
    Jeff Hardy (c) Vs Mr.Kennedy
Both men showed off why they should be WHC in the biggest Main Event to every happen in Ireland. Mr.Kennedy definitely surprised Hardy in the match since he was in control of most of the match but eventually Jeff would battle back and score very close pins . Near the end Jeff would miss a Whisper In The Wind attempt but Kennedy would move out of the way. To add insult to injury Kennedy would hit Jeff with a twist of fate (to a chorus of boo's) and go up to hit a kenton bomb but Jeff would move and hit a whisper in the wind to knock Kennedy down. Jeff would go for a TOF of his own but Kennedy would counter with a Mic-Check for a very close 3 count but somehow Jeff would kick out of it. In the end Kennedy would go for a second Mic-Check but Hardy would counter into a TOF and hit a swanton bomb , but since Jeff took to much time to make the pin , it would give Kennedy enough time to rest and kick out. Kennedy would try for a Green Bay Plunge but Hardy would counter it into a roll up for the win

Winner And Still World Heavyweight Champion
    Jeff Hardy

After the match Jeff would walk up the ramp holding the WHC over his head as the 90000 people stood up and cheered for the champ as Kennedy had a tantrum in the middle of the ring.

MVP, Randy Savage and APA. The second announcement is that there still isn't a number one contenders match at the SuperBrawl. With that in mind and with pressure from the majority shareholder, he is going to give the opportunity to two guys who never have held NWL gold before. He will announce the participants at the end of the show.

Vignette shown of Savage wrestling Steamboat at WrestleMania 3.

Match 1: Chris Hero Vs. Paul Burchill w/Katie Lea Burchill
Before the match starts Hero gets on the mic and says he will not fight his brethren. Burchill looks confused. Hero continues on that the two of them have been put in squash matches for the last few weeks and he for one is sick of it. Heis not on the PPV and he wants some real competition. Burchill nods in agreement. Crane appears on the tron and says if the two of them want to be in a match at the PPV it will have to be as a tag team. Hero and Burchill thinking they are going to be added to the tag title match, but instead Crane puts them in a handicap match against... The Great Khali!!

Vignette shown for Jericho beating a legend to capture the NWL World Championship.

Match 2: Kelly Kelly Vs. Katie Lea Burchill
This match is for the number one contendership to the women's title. It's a bit of a scrappy match with Kelly feigning signs of trauma from her kidnapping ordeal. Katie Lea wins with a snap DDT for the three count. After the match, Katie Lea continues to beat down Kelly while Paul Burchill holds her up. The crowd start chanting for Jericho. But he never comes.

Segment 2: Weights, beer and cigars!
The Rockstars are in the ring. They say the APA's promo last week was pathetic. They are deluding themselves. They managed to get CCTV footage from the gym they are training in. The footage airs on the tron. The video shows the APA doing weights while smoking cigars and shouting encouragement at each other. The video then shows them cooling off using beer instead of water. The video ends and The Rockstars are laughing and say how they will beat the APA in record time this Sunday.

Vignette showing Macho Man in his home holding the WWE and WCW championships and saying that this sunday he will add the NWL championship to his collection.

Match 3: Maven Vs. Mike Knox
Maven comes to the ring and the commentators build him up as a legit main eventer. Knox is threated like a jobber. The match is surprisingly evenly contested until Maven puts Knox in a camel clutch like maneuver only to have Mike Awesome interfere and attack Maven. The two brawl around the ring until the zebras and security break it up. Crane comes on the tron and says he has seen enough. These two guys obviously want to fight, he needs a number one contender match, so he is putting the two of them in a match at the PPV for the number one contendership.

Vignette shows Jericho at a fan autograph signing. He looks utterly disgusted to be there among such hypocrites. One fan asks him to sign it as Y2J and Jericho flips, knock the fan on his ass and walks off muttering about the crap he has to put up with as champion.

Segment 3: Ceux qui rient le lundi, pleureront le dimanche (Those who laugh on Monday will cry on Sunday)!
Maryse comes to the ring. She starts cutting a promo in French. The crowd boo this and start chanting U-S-A! U-S-A! Sera runs down to the ring to jump Maryse, but she darts out of the ring and the two stare each other down as Maryse backs her way up the ramp.

Final vignette of the night is a montage showing how the match came to be. A lot of emphasis is put on how much Savage wants to prove he still has it and how Jericho wants to continue his pursuit of making sure the so called legends know their time has passed!

Match 4: The Rockstars, Lance Storm and Chris Jericho Vs. The APA, MVP and Randy Savage.
Savage looks to be in really good shape for his age. The match starts with Lance Storm and Farooq. Good action with the heels holding the advantage early on. Curt Hawkins has the upperhand over MVP when MVP gets the hot tag to Savage. Huge pop from the crowd. Savage cleans house as the match breaks down into a huge brawl. Everyone is fighting everyone and the ring empties with only Savage left in the ring and Jericho hightailing it up the ramp as the show ends.

Chris Jericho (c) Vs. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage

NWL United States/Canadian Championship Unification Match
Montel Vontavius Porter (c) Vs. Lance Storm (c)

NWL World Championship Number One Contendership Match

    Handicap Match
The Great Khali Vs. Chris Hero and Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea Burchill

    The show can now begin.

A video package airs featuring the stories of how each superstar got to the SuperBrawl and how tonight is the culmination of their hard work not only over the last year, but throughout their entire lives.

There is a huge pyro display as the commentators welcome us to the biggest show of the year; SuperBrawl II!

The stage is a a huge II with screens either side of saying "Super" and "Brawl" respectively.

Match 1: Chris Hero and Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea Burchill Vs. The Great Khali
One of the commentators call Hero and Burchill the luckiest guys on the roster since they are only facing one guy tonight. The other reminds him that Khali is worth at least 3 people! Both guys try to take Khali off his feet, but Khali simply swats them off like flies. They regroup and take to launching themselves of the top rope at Khali who simply sidesteps their ariel attack. Khali has had enough of the fun and chokeslams Hero and throws Burchill over the top rope and puts Hero in the Khali Vise Grip for the submission.

Winner: The Great Khali in 6:54.

We are shown the commissioner of wrestling's office. Denny Crane is having an end of season party in his office. There are movie stars, socialites and of course scantily clad women at the party.

The commentators laugh and then switch to a more serious mood and tell us that there will be a special guest in the ring momentarily.

    Segment 1: Regally touching!
William Regal comes to the ring. He is still selling his injuries at the hands of Savage. He gets on the mic and says he was robbed of his chance to hold the NWL championship. He says that in England he would get an eye for an eye, but Denny has warned him not to interfere in the main event tonight and he will respect that. But once he is fit, he is coming for Savage.

Match 2: NWL Womens Championship: Maryse Vs. Sera Del Rey (c)
These two women begin the match by trash talking to each other. Maryse strikes first by pushing Sera on her ass. The two trade offense back and forth with lots of athletic moves from Del Rey and elbows and kicks from Maryse. Maryse gains the upperhand by allowing her opponent to run into an exposed turnbuckle. Maryse capitalises on this and hits Sera with the French Kiss. She taunts Sera before pinning her, but she kicks out at 2 and a half. Sera grabs Maryse into a small package for a long 2 count, but Maryse kicks out and hits Del Rey with a second French Kiss and pins her quickly for the 3 count.

Winner and NEW NWL Womens Champion...Maryse in 11:28.

    Segment 2: Gold or go!
In Chris Jericho's locker room, Kelly is there trying to get Jericho to listen to her. Jericho is ignoring her because he is watching Maryse on the TV. She tells him that he had better pay attention to her after what she went through with Savage. Jericho turns to her and calls her a gold digging leech on his money, his sex appeal and is only with him because he is a champion. He then says he deserves a woman with style, class and championship gold! Kelly runs off crying as Jericho smiles.

Match 3: NWL Tag Team Championship: The Rockstars (c) Vs. The APA
The commentators start by telling us how Denny Crane has been forced to remove the No Holds Barred stipulation due to a clause in the Rockstars contracts. The crowd really don't like this. The APA come out to the ring first, they look pumped. The Rockstars come out next, laughing and joking. Bradshaw starts off with Hawkins. Hawkins runs a few laps around Bradshaw, who feigns dizzyness. When Curt goes in for some offense, Bradshaw then hits him with a devastating clotheline. Hawkins spins 360 degrees before hitting the mat. He then scurries over to Ryder for the tag. Ryder comes in and rushes Bradshaw with lefts and rights. Bradshaw goes to the ground and Ryder starts to work his left leg. Bradshaw manages to crawl to the corner and tag in Farooq who knocks Ryder on his ass and then laughs at him. Ryder is hit with the Dominator by Farooq, but Hawkins breaks up the pin. Bradshaw comes in and throws Hawkins out of the ring again. Ryder recovers from the dominator as Farooq is still hurting from the pin breakup. Ryder tags in Hawkins who proceeds to double team Farooq while Bradshaw tries to get into the ring only to be stopped by the ref. Farooq is hurt by the double team and Hawkins pins him for a 2 and 3/4 count. Bradshaw comes into the ring and pulls Farooq to their corner and makes the tag. Ryder and Hawkins also exchange tags. Hawkins is taken out by Farooq as Ryder and Bradshaw battle in the ring. Ryder goes for a superplex, but Bradshaw manages to reverse it into a botched fall away slam. Ryder then runs at Bradshaw who hits him with the Clothesline from Hell for the 3 count.

Winners and NEW NWL Tag Team Champions...Bradshaw and Farooq, the APA in 15:08.

After the match, the APA are celebrating as the Rockstars look on is disbelief and are arguing with the ref that it was only a long 2 count.

Match 4: NWL Championship Number One Contendership Match: Mike Awesome Vs. Maven
Maven is again built up by the commentators as a legit main eventer. Mike Awesome is also treated as a main eventer. The two start of in a traditional tie up. The two trade punches and holds for a while with no man dominating the other. The two are really putting on a good solid upper midcard match. Hitting all their signature moves on each other. Awesome sets up Maven for the Awesome bomb, but Maven counters into a tornado DDT. He then goes for his modified camel clutch, only to have Awesome power his way out of it. Maven then manages to get Awesome up on his shoulders and delievers an F-5 (which the commentators call the Maven Effect). Maven then pins Awesome for the win.

Winner and NEW number one contender, Maven in 13:42.

    Segment 3: Ohhhhhh yea!
Macho Man is backstage with Nicole. He says that what Jericho did to Kelly earlier was typical. Typical of everybody else Savage had faced in his career. They think they are so great, they become bigger than the belt. He then says there is nothing bigger than the belt.

Match 5: Canadian/United States Championship Unification Match: MVP (c) Vs. Lance Storm (c)
MVP comes to the ring in red, white and blue ring gear. The crowd are really into MVP. U-S-A chants already filling the arena. The crowd do a complete 180 when Storm's music hits. Boos fill the arena. Storm is getting massive heel heat. He is also waving a Canadian flag. The two are in the ring as the announcer is introducing the men. He is interupted by Denny Crane who says he promised the fans a No Holds Barred match tonight and since he had to remove the stipulation from the tag title match, he was going to add it to this match. He says that this match is so highly charged and important he will not let it end in DQ or countout. The crowd like this surprise addition to the match. The two tie up and MVP pushes Storm to the ground and starts a U-S-A chant. Storm is irate and goes to the outside and grabs the Canadian flag he brought to ringside and get back into the ring. He then hits MVp in the gut with it. MVP falls to the ground as Storm attempts a cocky pin on MVP. He gets a one count. MVP wrestles the flag from Storm and proceeds to snap it over his knee. MVP then hits the running elbow drop with theatrics. Ballin'. The crowd pop. MVP goes to the outside and grabs a steel chair. When he gets back in the ring, Storm hits the chair with a dropkick, knocking MVP out. He then puts him in the boston crab. MVP gets to the ropes, but Storm refuses to let go. MVP's face is searing with the pain of the boston crab. Storm finally lets go and waits for MVP to stand up as he tries to hit the superkick. MVP manages to avoid the superkick because his knee buckled due to the boston crab. He then pulls Storm into the turnbuckle. Storm stumbles back and falls to the ground. MVP then hits the Drive-By and gets a long two count. Storm kicks out and goes straight for the chair. MVP is down and is getting pummeled by the chair. The crowd start a U-S-A chant. Storm shouts "f*ck America!" and pins MVP. MVP kicks out at the very, very last second. The crowd pops again. Storm is frustrated. He has giving MVP everything he has, except the superkick. MVP gets to his feet. Lance goes for the superkick. MVP reverses it into the Playmaker and pins Storm for the win.

Winner and United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter in 24:16.

After the match, MVP is celebrating in the ring, the crowd is chanting U-S-A and red, white and blue confetti falls from the ceiling.

As a video package for the main event airs, the ring crew clean the confetti from the ring.

Match 6: NWL World Championship Match: Chris Jericho (c) Vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage
Savage comes to the ring first. He is dressed in elaborate ring gear and as he walks down the ramp, gold pyro goes off with every step. When he enters the ring, golden sparks fly out of the ring posts. Jericho comes out next. His entrance also has bumped up pyrotechnics. The ring announcer does the introductions, the ref holds up the championship, the bell rings and we're under way. Jericho goes for a cheap kick to Savage's ribs straight away. Savage falls to the ground and the ref lectures Jericho. He goes to punch Savage again, but Savage punches Jericho in the stomach and then stands up and throws him into the ropes and proceeds to military slam him onto the canvas. Jericho holds his ribs in pain. Macho Man then delivers an array of elbow drops to Jericho on the ground. He sets up for the flying elbow drop, but Jericho manages to avoid it. He then hits the lionsault only to have Savage power out of the pin at 2. Savage then hits a series of running clotheslines on Jericho followed by a double axe handle from the top rope. Jericho kicks out after 2. These two are having a real wrestling classic in the ring. The crowd are solidly behind Savage. Savage grabs Jericho and gives him the atomic drop. He then ascends the turnbuckle and hits the flying elbow drop. Jericho somehow kicks out at 2 and 7/8s. He manages to land a few punches on Savage before Savage clotheslines him again. He again ascends to the top rope and goes for the double axe handle again. Jericho reverses this into the codebreaker. He pins Savage. 1-2-3! It's over. Jericho has beaten another legend.

Winner and STILL NWL World Champion, Chris Jericho in 30:41.

After the match, Jericho picks up Savage and hits the codebreaker again. Kelly comes down the ramp to Jericho. They embrace. The commentators conclude their fight earlier in the evening was just put on to trick Macho Man. The show goes off the air with Jericho and Kelly hand in hand standing over Savage's body with pyro exploding from the ceiling of the arena.

    Aftermath:
-NWL enters it's off season TV schedule.
-The first challenger to Jericho's championship next season will be Maven.
-NWL wishes best of luck in their future endeavors to Mike Knox, who after a bad kick to the head thinks he can really make it in the world of MMA.

I wanna thank a few people. First, MNG for allowing me to help him run this years draft. Secondly to all who participated, even those who didn't make it to the end, without you, the draft would be me and MNG making rules and nobody following them. And finally, I wanna thank a really awesome person...ME!! Ha ha, joking, but seriously thanks to ShawnRaven, my slightly Cork-hating podcast partner and PW mod for allowing us the draft.

Oh I just realised it's 5am, I've spent 4 hours writing this f*cking thing. If I ever see another wrestling show, it'll be too soon! Thank you and good night!

    Defiance Episode 2 SPOILERS

We open with Jerry Lawlor in the ring. He is battered and bruised from his brutal encounter with Doug Williams 2 weeks ago. He thanks the fans for their continued faith in him. He says he has very little still to prove in the industry, he has won it all in the past. But that is not going to stop him have one last hurrah. He challenges the winner of tonight main event between reigning champion CM Punk Vs Low Ki Vs KENTA to a title match at PWRs first PPV Summer Uprising. Dana White descends from the ceiling and tells Lawler he does not make the matches as he is not God. Lawler says it will be a match the fans want to see, as each possible match up would be something of a dream match. White asks the live audience do they want to see Lawler as the number one contender. The roof is lifted and God grants The King his wish.

    First Match of the evening
No Remorse Corps Davey Richards and Roderick Strong Vs Juvi & Psychosis
NRC make their PWR debut tonight. A major clash of styles here, but thats not to say that the tempo and intensity of this match is hurt. The match eventually ends in a no contest when the ref completely loses control and all 4 competitors are using foreign objects. It is only broken up after all the officials from the back come out and take control.

    Second Match
    Homicide Vs Doug Williams
Homicide takes the mic and calls Williams a pussy for his little performance on Defiant Discussion last week. Willaims rushs Homicide and a brawl ensues. The brawl goes full circle and ends up being a quite technical affair. Homicide eventually takes the victory making Williams tap with an STF. Williams cannot believe he has lost two matches in a row.

    *backstage segment*
White is with a bloodied NRC. They are angry. They demand from White a match at Summer Uprising. White says not only do they have a match, but it will be a Dishonourable Discharge match. No holds barred, no time limit and the losers will be suspended for 6 months. The NRC look happy with the outcome

    Third Match
Bernard & Tomko (c) Vs MCMG
The match begins with the big men taking complete control. Tomko in particular looks very laid back. He has a number of oppurtunities to pin either Sabin or Shelley. Bernard is none too pleased at Tomkos attitude and makes a tag to Tomkos back. Tomko is pissed with Bernard for doing so. This gives the Guns the time to regroup. Both Tomko and Bernard seem more intend on distracting teh other. MCMG sense the disharmony while isolating Tomko. As he is stricken, the guns double drop kicks Bernard from the apron. Tomko gets back to his feet but is hit with a flurry of kicks from Sabin and Shelley. He is wobbling, the Sabin hits a high insiguri kick while Shelley simultaneously hits a superkick. Tomko is down. Both Guns make the cover 1-2-3 NEW TAG CHAMPIONS.

The Guns celebrate with the crowd while Bernard makes his way back to the ring to remonstrate with Tomko. Bernard sucker punches Tomko and hits him with a series of power bombs as we go to commercial break.

    4th match
    TBK Vs Local talent
A very annoyed TBK wants little to do with this local guy and goes nuts with punches. He then runs him to the corner, hits his signature “sliced bread #2” for the finish. He celebrates the win like he has won gold.

    *backstage segment*
Low Ki cuts an intense promo about how tonight he will fulfil his destiny, and the World Warrior will take his rightful place on top of the wrestling planet.

    5th Match MAIN EVENT
CM Punk (c) Vs Low Ki Vs KENTA
A match which many have described before hand as a dream match, this lived up to all its promise. With somewhat similar styles in common, the one main feature here was kicks. Plenty of them and stiff. In a match which is supposed to be every man for himself, it seemed as if KENTA and Punk wanted to team up on Ki to eliminate his threat. This worked to a big degree as they double suplexed him to the outside. With just Punk and KENTA left on the inside, they started to kick the ever living shot out of each other. KENTA has long had a beef with Punk for stealing his “Go To Sleep” finisher. After a number of reversals, it is Punk who finally hits the move. He goes for the count as Ki is making his way back to the ring. However, down runs Homicide to block his former allys attempt to block the pin. 1-2 -3. Homicide runs through the crowd away from Ki. The fans, despite being right pissed off with the result are left in awe after a match which will forever live in the PWR memory vault. They rightly chant “5 star match”.

Punk takes the mic and tells Jerry Lawler he will have no problem beating him next week, afterall, look at what he has done to two of the best wrestlers in the world today. Lawler comes to the top of the ramp, laughs at Punk and turns away again as we go off the air.

    Summer Uprising

Live from the Hammerstein Ballroom New York City
    Attendance 3273

We open and the arena is filled with what appears to be white smoke. A strobe type light begins flashing from the ceiling. The strobe turns solid to a spotlight. In the middle of the spot stood in the ring is God himself. He raises his arms and immediately the arena clears to darkness with just the spot on him in the middle of the ring. He has the mic and talks solemnly of the death of pro wrestling, of how the public did not want pro wrestling, how the mainstream shunned pro wrestling, how the media ridiculed pro wrestling. Even some former stars who made their names in the game were now distancing them from pro wrestling. However, he himself believed that the sport had a future. Not with the whackery and zaniness of previous promotions, but a promotion with a proper work ethic. These guys who work now are noT in it just for the cash, they are there for the love of pro wrestling. This is why he got involved, why he felt the need to re establish the sport from its very core. He feels it will rise like a phoenix from the flames of a gutted industry.

As the spotlight starts fading, White screams WELCOME TO PWR SUMMER UPRISING as the pyro goes off.

    Cruiserweight Title Tournament Finale
James Gibson Vs “Lightening” Mike Quackenbush
    Jamie_Noble8.jpgVs quack2.jpg
A typically fast paced match ebbs and flows in a way that one would accustom matches between these two. Starting off as a technical masterpiece, it is not long before the pace is picked up where it looks as if the pace is suiting Quack more than the more scientifically minded Gibson. TBK runs down to offer his “support” for Gibson. He goes about distracting Quack. As the ref tries to step in between, Gibson sucker punches Quack with a low blow, grabs him for a Tiger driver, hits it 1-2-3.

Winner and inaugural PWR Cruiserweight Champion JAMES GIBSON.

TBK comes to the ring to celebrate with Gibson, but once Quack gathers his bearings he chases TBK from the ring and out through the crowd.

    *backstage segment*
Doug Williams is backstage saying he hopes his challenge is met tonight as he needs to get back on track.

    Second Match
No Remorse Corps Vs Juvi and Psicosis: Dishonourable Discharge match

    250px-Roderick_Strong.jpg304114771_9597f46302.jpg?v=0

    Vs
    juventud.jpgpsicosis.jpg
As the NRC are making their way to the ring, they are attacked from behind from their LAX opponents. Both Juvi and Psicosis have baseball bats and they go to work on the NRC. After a prolonged battle through the crowd, they eventually get to the ring on 8 minutes. The ref is only needed for the count here. This is not a tag team match, this is a street fight between 4 of the most vicious men in the company. The ring is litter with chairs, tables, baseball bats, tacks. Juvi and psicosis seem to have the advantage here from their years of battling. Eventually they send Strong through a table to the outside with a double powerbomb leaving Richards alone in the ring. Bravely and all as he tries to fend off the attack of his veteran nemesis’, it is no good as they Juvi Hits a rana from the top and Psicosis frog splashes him for the 1-2-3 on the 17 minute mark
    Winners Juvi and Psicosis.

    *backstage segment*

CM Punk is backstage laughing about how easy it will be to retain his title tonight against the has been that is Jerry Lawler. Punk guarantees victory tonight.

    Third Match
Doug Williams comes to the ring and asks who will answer his open challenge. It takes a while, but Ron Killings walks out with a mic in hand to announce himself as Williams challenger. He says this won’t take long. He has watched Williams last few matches and knows how to beat him.
    dougwilliams1cropped.jpg Vs r-truth.jpg
Doug Williams Vs Ron “The Truth” Killings
The crowd are fully behind Williams here as they hook up. Williams uses his judo background to take this match to the mat. He seems to have added to BJJ to his repertoire as well as he makes numerous submission attempts. This is not suiting the faster paced Killings. When Killings does take control he uses his pace as a weapon. Williams, not to be outdone is no slouch either. The match ends with some solid punches exchanged, where Williams eventually takes control. He hits his patented finisher “The Chaos Theory” for the win. A relieved Williams celebrates on the ropes while Killings makes his way to the back.
    Winner: Doug Williams 8 minutes

    Fourth Match
    Giant Bernard Vs Travis Tomko

    1albert.gif Vs tomko-superluchascommx-300x272.jpg
After a long stare down they go at each other in a flurry of hate filled punches. This will not be pretty. These two have a long history of tagging together so they know each others offense inside out. Both men show their power as they trade baodyslams. Eventually it is Tomko who takes the win after a mistake from Bernard where he takes his time to showboat after a particularly strong body slam. Tomko senses an opportunity and unleashes a barrage of kicks and punches before slamming Bernard to the floor with a running powerslam.
    Winner: Travis Tomko 9 minutes

    *Backstage segment*
Homicide is backstage getting a pep talk from Juvi and Psicosis. They tell him he will not be in this alone and once he wins LAX can really establish themselves as the premier faction in pro wrestling today. Homicide says nothing as he looks intensely focused.

    5th Match

    PWR World Title Match
CM Punk © Vs Jerry Lawler
    6277940 Vs jerry.jpg
The match starts off with a test of strength which Punk easily wins. He pushes Lawler to the floor and postures for the crowd. Lawler gets back to his feet and asks Punk for another test, which Punk again wins easily and he continues posturing for the crowd who at this stage are hailing boos on top of Punk. Lawler gets back to his feet again and goes for another test of strength, but as Punk goes to clinch Lawler kicks him in the midsection and DDTs Punk to the approval of the crowd. The match continued in an old school fashion where the action was much more focused on hard hitting strikes than it was for fast paced spotty action. On the 17 minute mark, Punk decided he had enough, grabbed his belt and made for the locker room. However, White descended again and told Punk that unless he gets back in the ring, he will strip him of the title. He also said if he gets himself DQed, he will also lose the title. Punk reluctantly gets back in the ring. Both men, seemingly re invigorated after Whites interjection, trade blows again. The crowd are 100% behind their veteran hero. However after 31 minutes Punks greater conditioning becomes apparent and starts to dominate Lawler. He goes for an anaconda vice, which Lawler barely scrapes his way to the ropes. Punk, looking annoyed, picks up Lawler and hits a GTS 1-2….kick out. The crowd are chanting Lawlers name as he gets back to his feet. He slaps Punk across the face and pushes him to the corner. He runs to the corner but Punk moves out of the way, catches him with a crotch kick and sets him up on the rope. Punk climbs up, hits his almost forgotten Pepsi Plunge. 1-2-3.

    7th Match
Main Event PWR tag team titles
Murder City Machine Guns Vs KENTA & Naomichi Marufuji
    33ynz8j.jpg Vs kentamarufuji.jpg
All four men show their respect for each other at the start by shaking hands. We start off with Shelley in the ring with Marufuji. After a short feeling out period, the pace picks up and we are treated to one of the fastest paced matches ever seen in North America. No man knows the meaning of staying down, they let the adrenalin take over. KENTA and Marufuji leave welts on both the Guns chest from the ferocity and number of kicks thrown. Both teams pretty much give the crowd a rundown of every signature maneuver each team has, but no matter what, no one is staying down. The ring announcer says there are 5 minutes remaining in the allotted 60 minutes before the PPV goes off the air. All four men are in the ring chopping and kicking. The Guns corner KENTA, hit a cradle shock, Sabin goes for the count, but Marufuji makes his way to the top and goes half way across the ring the break the count at two with a dropkick. All 4 men at this stage are lying on their back as the ref signals for the bell as the 60 minute time limit elapses.
    Time Limit 60 minute draw

Everyone in the crowd rise to their feet in applause of what they have just seen. The dream match lives up to its billing. White comes to the ring applauding also. All four men eventually get to their feet and raise each others hand in the middle of the ring as we go off the air.

    Whats next for PWR?

White, being the canny business man that he is, knows that if he tries to expand too much too soon, it could spell the end of his upstart promotion. he plans on keeping the same format as has been successful so far, but he will probably do a fortnightly house show on the weeks there is no TV. He will also have his talent do publicity signings in his key areas.

    Summer Uprising fall out

MCMG, after their epic match for the ages offer KENTA & Marufuji a rematch. Will LAX stand for this after their success at Uprising in their victory over the NRC.

Will NRC be re instated by White rather than serve their 6 months. They said they will take thier suspension like the men that they are. Maybe White wants them back sooner? We will find this out on the next Defiance.

Mike Quackenbush will certainly want a crack at TBK. TBK is unliley to want any part of the angry head trainer of the PWR academy, but will he have any choice?

Giant Bernard seems to have made new allies in Ron Killings and Ezequiel Jackson. What sort of alliance can these 3 guys make?

Low Ki has set his sights on CM Punks World Title. Is God likely to give this his blessing?

Jerry Lawler has decided to take a step back from in ring action and devote his time to mentoring Travis Tomko, a man who he feel has unlimited potential as a singles wrestler.

Doug Williams' issues with Homicide are very much unresolved as far as he is concerned. Can he get Homicide to agree to another match. Does the Almighty Whitey think the fans want to see this match. Roderick Strong is another who would like a crack at Homicide, but will his suspension hold him back

What is next for James Gibson, the Cruiserweight champion? Will Davey Richards fancy his chances if re installed?

These questions can only be answered on upcoming episodes of PWR DEFIANCE. Tune in or miss out.
