I am looking for cool (temperature, not colour balance) light source. I would like to create few personal and personalised lights and I am looking for such light source. White light is the basic, however possibility of other colours could be interesting.
If you know any suppliers and/or shops, especially in Dublin area, I would appreciate your suggestions.

LED's sound like a good solution, and available in a variety of colours

All of these places will sell a variety of them:

    http://radionics.rs-online.com/web/
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/

and they sell the wires etc to go with them, as does Peats I think on Parnell St.

Maplin have a store on that street in between Mary St and Parnell St, I think its Jervis St. beside the Smyths toy shop, and if you're a student they do student discount.

Im not sure what stores outside of Dublin, but most of those guys if not all let you order online.

They have mostly separate LEDs, that has to be composed into light sources. I would prefer E27 or finished and "boxed" sources with certified power supplies.

I will give it a go, I haven't checked their offer quite few months. Thank you for the idea.

Why not try CFL bulbs? They run a lot cooler than ordinary bulbs, and can have an output that is equivalent to 100 watts, if needed.

A bit bulkier than LEDs though!

I would like to put it into very confined space and the cooling is major issue. I would like to create light from daily objects by inserting light source and some means of optics to moderate light stream and maybe even colour.
