    hi all ,

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with converting a strat with normal trem on it to a floyd rose ?

I have a strat copy body lying around that id love to put some parts on from another guitar , including a floyd rose.

I have seen strats with these bridges before, but they came stock on some models , so i am just curious as to the conversion of the body , i know the cavity will have to be made bigger and a recess also made for the trem , but what is the best way of doing this ?

I'd be thankful for any advice given

Hi there are templates available on stewmac,

It can get very messy, youd be better off buyin the floyd on ebay or whatever and leaving it in to a luthier.
I only put an US tremolo on mine and things got messy!

its a job for a professional me thinks, theres some nice wilkinsen tremolos that work well with very little modifications

no bad reviews about them...mr fastfinger uses em and he has a lot of whammy abuse, never heard it go outa tune!

yh , but i already have the bridge so i thought id use that rather than buying a new one ,

id say it would be messy but i have a wood router at home , and the different tips for it , so i thought that may come in handy . . . . .
