hard-to-find parts

I'm looking for parts to build a banjo ukulele. I can make the neck fretboard and brace myself as I've built guitars in the past but I'm finding it incredibly difficult to source new parts.

I'm bidding on a few vintage pieces from ebay but I'd very much like to build one from scratch. I'd like to build an open-back with a clear skin.

Can anyone suggest somwhere that has these kind of parts? I've tried Luthiers Mercantile and stewmac to no avail. Many thanks.

Try talking to Tom Cussen (http://www.banjo.ie)
He makes Banjo-mandolins along with normal banjos some other stuff, might be able to help you out. He's dead sound as well.
