oh many moons ago, in the last decade, century, millenium, I used to be a member of a newsgroup thingy.. forums having not really found their feet at the time, and it was a "tradation, or an old charter or something"*, that all polls offer the option of "free beer"

it was a well respected tradation at the time, and even as only an option on a poll... who can deny that it is always nice to think about "free beer"

just thougth I'd see what ye think...

*if you recognise this phrase, the you as good as know what the forum was about...

But is there such thing as free beer? Is it like a free lunch?

Around these parts, we most certainly would like to think there is.

    Free Beer, FTW.

yes, it is a difficult one..

I have been at "company do's" , that often the would provide "free beer" , but I suppose, the were just paying their due, for you just turning up in the morning, regardless of wheather you did any work or not.

I have been to parties in a "brothers" house, and much beer was supplied, and enjoyed many, but in truth, I had a good idea of what was being drunk, and felt oblliged to return the favour one day... even if I havent yet bothered.

I have been to more enlightened countries, where the price of beer was so cheap in supermarkets, that if someone was having a party, bringing your own beer was frowned upon... thats pretty good. But I have always spoiled it by making some "overly complimentary comment" about a fine looking woman, who always turns out to be the mans wife. Which kinda makes things a bit awlkard.

I suppose it is an "ideal", a drinking mans Valhalla... something to aspire to, a place to go when you die .....

    FREE BEER
