Stuck in a rut - Time to travel?

Let me give you some background information before I get to the decision making!

Dropped out of college in my final year due to a major depressive episode, went back to try re-finish twice but the same self destructive patterns raised their ugly head and I had to drop out. Now I am at the point where re-attempting the final year is no longer an option.

I am currently stuck in a dead end job which I hate with no prospect of advancement (believe me I've tried). The overwhelming sense of being trapped cannot be conveyed simply. This is not what I want to be doing with my life, its too short!

So the conundrum is this: Do I quit my job in 2 months and go on a working visa to New Zealand and Australia? I am hoping there will be more informed Boards members that may shed some light on the current employment situation down under.

Note this decision scares the crap out of me as I've been living in an absolute comfort bubble for too long and lets just say this is a wee step outside of it :)

This to me seems simply like a question of "Is there any jobs in New Zealand?" Would the work forum not be better like?

Otherwise what concerns do you have about going traveling, are you afraid of getting depressed or something?
What caused the depression in college that cropped up when you went to college again - social, getting work done?

The question is do i go in the first place, the bit about jobs there is more of a side question.

If your fed up in your job why not if it's a good time and there's a job available.
