I have a few uncles that broke the law and one is serving time at the moment I would like to stess I haven't had much to do with them over the years and have never broke the law ever myself.

Considering this would I have no hope of getting in?

I'll leave this here for the moment as you seem to want to remain anon, but here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1081 would likely get you better answers.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Why would you be punished for something that you didnt do?

And i bet youve broken the law at some stage or another, do you jaywalk? Spit chewing gum on the pavement? Take a piss on the street when walking home after town?

Its virtually impossible to live until the age when you can join the guards and not have broken the law.

OP, I can't see how having criminals in the family can impact upon your application.

As an aside, we do have 'jaywalking' in Ireland, though not quite like the Americans. See here for reference.
