i have to say he's a top bloke funny thing i was saying to his agent that the darts were not great he couldn't believe it as every place he's been over here has asked to get him back  maybe just an off night we're only human i suppose, part is different player, different class so i think it'll be cracking, fair play to john and lads in the tassie great set up;)

just like to mention, the idea of anto lynchs to have a kind of super league on a thursday night sounded like a realy good idea, but i hear a lot of poeple shot it down straight away, cant belive that people wouldnt give it a bash it would improve your darts no end, playing good players every week,if you had a league with the lough, kellys, tassie, igo, fishermans, you would be playing a very good standard of darts week in week out,

i can't speak for any other team,we talked about it down the tassie but at the end of the day it came down to been able to afford to get out during the week to play darts.a night out playing darts doesn't come cheap,we just felt we couldn't cover the cost of two nights darting and we didn't want to pull out of the borough league.

Would a weekly Summer league (singles) not be a better idea? Wont clash with the league and its an excuse to get out for a game when you normally wouldn't.

i can understand where your coming from dfd,at this time money is tight, well maybe the league would think of having a [super league] like a [monday A] and [monday b] just something to improve the standard made up of 6/7 teams in each because i think intrest is gone half way through the season from most teams, just throwing a few ideas lads.

i think it'd be a great idea and also dfd it might not be to suit everyone from every club but you could mix and match player's if you liked he never said a team would have to be formed from a certain club, ie mick kane anto lynch alan delaney ken kane and mark mulvaney could have a team playing from any pu that suited it would be great it's needed the league is a joke at the minute we're into ouf 5th free week  if we'd have been competing we would be f**ked altogether

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭S.T.D Ste

Lads thats what the AGM is for but i have a feeling that people won't show up to put there suggestions forward like the last few years at the moment i'm playing twice a week monday in the brough and a friday in the farmhouse premier league so i'm not evening thinking of playing in another league and if i do give up the friday more then likely i'll play in the dublin league

that might be the way to do it wayne76 mix an match, its up to someone to take the bull by the horns and go for it.the free weeks are a nuisance alright.the fixtures should have been redrawn when it became known the 2 teams were pulling out,we all know who's that down to and they wouldn't do it:mad:
i really dont know why we aren't playing on the thursday when the bank holiday mondays happen, dont remember anything being said about that at the agm.i know a few people who've moaned all season about certain things but i haven't seen them at an agm in years, thats the time to say these things.whats the bets they wont bother going to this years agm either.
if the same thing happens next season with the fixtures teams should get together and refuse to play til they're redone.i hate freeweeks, headwrecking.

the only problem with this you are creating another night out you do have cup match;s on a thursday league on a monday a lot of teams out there find it hard enough to get there lads to turn up on a monday also you have remember that a lot of local tournaments start when the season ends and they deserve support.the borough league need to put there thinking hats on .because as you say the monday is a shambles maybe they should start up a super league and reinvent the other leagues in some way the only thing they are good at is sending tickets to teams to sell every other week it seems now thats a joke

the only thing with a weekly summer league is that there is so meny tournaments on around the summer time, but its ideas like that we need, there is a lot of players in this league with so much potential and i cant see them getting better, example you have [stephen andrews] whos darts have improved so much the last 2 years he would now be in my top 5 players in the league, he needs to be playing a [mick kane, bullit,pj,] evey week cos there the standards hes set himself now,and the only way to do it is a super league, be it on a monday or a thursday, and im not putting teams or players down, by the way he should be a cert for the dublin team along with pj by far the best too players this year and thay proved that in the singles.

i have to totally agree alot of the teams in the monday give up half way thru the year when there is nothing to play for like this season no relegation a gap between the top five or six to the rest is unreal a option to put some more excitement into the league's both monday and tuesday is first of all try and get 32 men teams then split them into four groups of eight fair enough we might have to pay more reg fee but thats nothing have a premier league mon div 1 mon div 2 tue div 3 tue with one team each year going up with the bottom teams going down and then a play off between the second place team and the second last team from each group it will give players like me more of challange and more of a push to get better and better
