Just a few questions for a project!

Hey lads,
Im upgrading to a new guitar on the weekend and the guitar i have at the moment is just going to be sitting around doing nothing so i have decided to make a little project out of it, seeing as its not going to be doing anything i taught i might try and get experience changing things around like pickups,tuners and other hardware,etc!

Its an epiphone sg G-400 gothic and i plan on replacing the hardware with gold hardware and upgrade the tuners,pickups etc!

So my question to you guys is could you recommend where to get the tools and parts needed to do this?
Also could you reccomend a good set of pickups that would give me a nice clean sound?

Please feel free to add your thoughts,etc!

I built(assembled) a strat during the summer and you dont need any tools out of the ordinary really!
