i just happened upon a 1*12 cabinet and i already have one so i was wondering is there such a device that you can mount a different size speaker into a larger cabinet(for example a 8" speaker into a 12" cabinet)its just that i have a nice little 2watt amp i made for myself and would like to hear it with different size speakers,if there isn't there sould be.or do i just make something that will reduce the size of the hole in the cabinet.cheers.

Im guessing thats the easiest option if you're handy at the oul DIY.
But I do think you already have the optimum set up with the 2 seperate 1x12's. Smaller speakers just sound 'smaller' , not quiter, but they have less presence and bottom end 'thump' overall. When used in isolation anyway. A 2x10 or 4x10 set up always sounds great though.
Actually, screw the 8" speaker, see if you can get your hands on a 15" speaker and squeeze it into the cab somehow!

PS are you still loving that home made 2 watter?

Ampmaker are sound, best of luck with the 5 watter.
Have a look on www.sewatt.com for some great ideas you can easily implement on a 5 watt type amp. The forum there is great and there's loads of really knowledgable guys hanging around.
This DIY amp stuff is pretty addictive alright. :pac:
