There you go. There's the dastardly, evil gesture which is bound to corrupt anyone who views it.

Allardyce is a joke of a manager desperate to do something - anything - to deflect the fact that his team got humped, while Ferguson is swiftly losing the plot. Seriously, the weekend of an FA Cup final and he's banging on about Benitez waving his hands?

I have to say as neutral this is great. Fergie losing it. Hopefully Rafa keeps quiet now and leaves it at a Fergie rant. Is he finally losing it, he is getting old you know:rolleyes:

If Rafa's rant a few months back was seen by many as Fergie having gotten under Rafa's skin then to me the opposide view has to be taken of Fergie & his mates comments today - Rafa has gotten under Fergie's skin.

All fairly pathetic really - players do this kind of thing all the time to opposition supporters.

It will be known from here on as the Rafa Shuffle. I can just see the KOP doing it on Tuesday night, just to have a pop at both Ferguson and Allyrdyce.;)

    Last week:

'The interesting thing as far as Rafa Benitez is concerned is that he has got a European tie coming up and he is talking about Alex Ferguson,' he laughed.

    'That's fantastic. I didn't know I was that important.'

    This week:

'Everton are a big club, not a small one which Benitez arrogantly said,' said Ferguson.

'But arrogance is one thing. You cannot forgive contempt, which is what he showed (Blackburn manager) Sam Allardyce last weekend.

'When Liverpool scored their second goal he signalled as if the game was finished. I do not think Sam deserved that.

'Sam has worked so hard for the LMA (League Managers' Association) and he's had a weakened team. I just thought it showed contempt.

'In my experience no Liverpool manager has ever done that. It was beyond the pale.'

    Rafa shuffle ftw !

Does anyone else think that people are going way overboard about this Itandje thing ? It was a two hour service commemorating something that happened when he was a baby in a different country. Hes on camera for all of 2 seconds and yes, he seems to be laughing which is inappropriate and slightly disrespectful- but all this talk of him being sacked is ridiculous. Its not news worthy as far as I'm concerned.

Somehow if it was Torres or Mascherano, I think people would be changing their tunes a bit. Yes, he acted like a bit of an eejit and was unfortunate to be caught on camera, but the reaction to it is way over the top.

we can't afford to sack him really. We definitely don't need the hassle of a wrongful dismissal case. Because that's what it would be. It was terrible behaviour, but he'll still be a Liverpool player unfortunately.

you are implying Tusky that he was impeccably behaved for the rest of the service. he wasn't, he was acting up throughout the whole thing. he should be fined the max available which should be donated to charities involved in the fight for justice & he should never play for the club again.

It was cos Liverpool had scored from a set piece after being criticised for conceding two goals from set pieces in midweek though.
It had nothing whatsoever to do with Allardyce who is so far up Fergie's arse it's no wonder its ****in squeaking.

I agree with you. Said my piece yesterday and have drawn a line under it.

    Serious question.

Were you there, or are you basing this on something you read on a Liverpool Forum?

With this Allardyce thing and Itandje, Liverpool really need Tuesday to come round quickly and get away from both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

i'm basing it on the unlikely event that the one time the camera panned to him, he was acting the maggot. i'm also basing it on people who were present noticing his behaviour during the ceremony & that immediately after the ceremony the club was notified of his behaviour throughout the ceremony, as opposed to just a couple of seconds during it. i'm also basing it on the fact that Rafa Benitez is furious with him for his appauling behaviour throughout the ceremony.

its not a case that he simply cracked a smile & was unfortunate to be caught on camera, loads of the players were seen smiling at the ceremony, but he was blatantly trying to disrupt the ceremony. its totally different.

So many knickers in a twist about very little... Would nearly wish for a return of the anti-rafa crowd..

This is hilarious. Just after reading Big Sam & Fergie's comments about this one! Absolutely Ridiculous! They must have had a good natter on this one last night over the phone.

Im so glad im in Rafa's camp for this one! Fergie looks like a proper eejit throwing his weight behind this, he really is rattled, credit to Rafa.

This is highly embarresing for both clubs. Blackburn were whipped off the park last week & should be concentrating on surviving, not brown-nosin with Fergie! That won't get them many points

'There are only two teams in Liverpool; Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves' vs What Benitez quoted about Everton.......

The man gets more and more like our most famed manager. I'll admit it, I was a Rafa doubter but I'm loving the man more and more each day. I think when Mourinho left the Prem, an edge with him........ STEP IN RAFA...

I think our current form, where we lie in the Premiership, him gaining more control of the team, has somewhat taken him off the leash and given him the power to say what he likes....love it!!

It's like a game of table tennis with a hot potato and after the latest spat, it's clear it's over at Fergie side with him struggling to get it back

Where did you get that quote from Mr Alan? I know TB said it, but would be interested in finding out where. You've (I think its been you anyways) posted some similar comments from TB before that seem to be very frank, and not sanitized for the mass public. I'd like to keep an eye on the site where he makes these remarks.

...why is that not likely ? It could easily be the case. The fact is, none of us know. So the witch hunt is a bit silly.

    According to the press.

    Sam Allardyce - Sept 07
“Rafa would be very lucky to be in a job if he hadn’t got to two Champions League finals, because they've had some very poor finishes in the Premier League.
“While they are a very good Champions League team, they’re not a Premier League winning side. They don’t have the mentality to win that yet.
“Being a foreigner, Rafa doesn’t understand it’s supposed to be Premier League first and Champions League second.”
“He's lucky to be still in a job.”

Yeah sure your a real class act Sam aren't you
Your previous random & unprovoked comments above have shown us that!

Shouldn't you be more worried about relegation than this disturbing obsession you clearly have with Benitez?
Perhaps you just want to give naughty boy Rafa a good spanking Sammy eh!
Does he make you horny Sammy? Yeah baby!

You have to laugh at the thought of Ferguson ringing up Allardyce to hatch their little plan!

I'd say Rafa will be laughing into his wine tonight and thinking 'job done' when he sees Mad Fergie cracking up in the press conference.

Sad thing is he probably will be, until his wife reminds him that he has gone yet another season with no trophies! ;)
