Do you know of any groups for food addiction in Dublin?

www.bodywhys.ie might help or Over Eaters annonymous. I am a food addict myself battle with it every day. The only thing that has helped me was behavioural therapy (where I learnt practical ways of coping with food in every situation) and also accepting that I am going to slip up (because its food, cant lock it away like drink or the smokes) and to pick myself up again. Regarding my diet, I take chromium supplements (to balance blood sugars), vitamin supplements and also eat a lot of fruit and veg - I find all this helps with the cravings a lot and can stop a binge.

Hope some of this helps, I do know how hard it is. I have been such an addict that at one stage, I would have given up my husband, just so I could be alone with food. It sounds completely crazy but that was when I knew I was a food addict (as opposed to someone with 'issues' needing counselling, it didnt work for me) and it was only from that point onwards, I got the right help that I needed and started to recover.

That's strange because I sent them a letter before and no-one responded to me.

    Hi,
You should check out the Rutland Centre, they deal with all types of Addictions. I know they have weekly meetings such as AA, GA, NA etc open to the public and as far as I can remember there is one for food addiction.
